Abstract
Abstract The Electrical Laboratory at Gollis University plays a
crucial role in providing students with practical learning
opportunities and fostering research in electrical engineering.
However, the lack of a comprehensive evaluation of the lab’s
resources and functionality has created a gap in understanding
its current condition and identifying areas for improvement. This
study aimed to address this gap by conducting an inventory of
the laboratory’s materials, assessing their quantity, functionality,
and maintenance needs. Using a mixed-method approach, the
research employed both qualitative observations and
quantitative testing, with primary data collected directly through
systematic inspection and analysis using Microsoft Excel. The key
findings revealed that while 85% of the 292 items assessed are
functional, 15% are non-functional or damaged, with significant
issues identified in electrical components and electronics.
Furthermore, essential safety equipment, motor control devices,
and battery maintenance tools were found to be missing. The
implications of these findings highlight the need for better
organization, enhanced safety measures, and regular
maintenance to improve the lab's efficiency and quality. By
addressing these issues, the laboratory can provide a safer and
more effective environment for students and researchers,
supporting the university’s academic goals.
