With the WAN’s that we are going to need to be effective to support the entire project we will

need to look at the big pitcher. With the locations being in major cities we could use a fiber connection

that would allow for the fastest speeds. Also what might be an option for us is that we can find a that

Ethernet access to a LPLS V3 or even a private Ethernet Private Line service will be available at a lower

cost. This will also give us the ability to have flexibility as far as the ability to add bandwidth as needed.

What we are going to focus on will be the MPLS VPN as everyone at all of the locations are

needing to have remote access. We will need to make sure that we install customer edge router

exchanges and that we have routes to the provider edge router so that everyone will have access to the

information that they need.

We will be also using the protocol OSPF so that each of the routers so that the network that will

have the ability to learn all the other routers in the network. This will also provide alternate routes

through the network the election process of the designated router will hold all of the routing

information for the network and spread it across to the other routers in the network. With the

implementation of the OSPF protocol we will also by default have back up designated router that will

take over for the DR if and when we have a problem with it.

With the plan that we have laid out we will have the best possible network to support the

business plan. We will be able to support the request of having the people work from home and have

access to the network from a remote location.

This proposal will help the leadership make the best possible decisions for a network monitoring tool
and from that information you will be able to decide which one you like the best. With the tools I will
propose two of the thresholds that we should be monitoring. The last piece of information that I will
provide you will be an insight on how to monitor and interpret the results from the tool that you chose.

The first tool that we will review will be Solar Winds it has been around for
years and they have made adjustment’s that have allowed them to stay on top of the list when it comes
to top of the line network monitoring software. Some of the features that most people like is the
product is highly customizable and the interface is easy to manage and change very quickly. You can
design a tailored topology for the entire network quickly.

The next tool that we are going to review is the PRTG Network Monitoring
software this software is well known for its advanced infrastructure management capabilities. You will
like that it will allow you the ability to display all device systems and applications in the network. The
technology that it can use are SNMP, VMI, SSH and HTTP request all of these are good to keep an eye on
as attacks could come from anywhere.

The last tool that I would like for you to consider is the Manage Engine
OpManager. This tool is a network monitoring and applications performance tool, so it will serve two job
in our network if we need it to do so. One of the great features is that it is a balanced when it comes to
monitoring and analysis. Down side is that it has to be installed on site and can’t be used remotely so all
sites will have install this causing us to have to buy three of the systems.
