1. Objective and Uniqueness of the Proposed Centre

Hyderabad is the hub for MSME and startups which arises the need for the establishment
of proposed centre in Hyderabad to protect their intellectuals and revenue generation by best IP
practices. The primary objective of the proposed facilitation centre is

• To promote awareness of Intellectual Property Rights (IPRs) amongst MSME, startups,


professionals from academics/research institutes, entrepreneurs and researcher s in India.

• To provide best IP services from drafting to grant of IPRs and technical consultation to
convert their ideas into secured marketable products.

• To provide a platform for prior art searching/mapping for various forms of IPRs. (Patent,
Industrial Design etc.,)

• To facilitate assistance in patent assignment draft for commercialization and technology


transfer.

The uniqueness of the proposed facilitation centre is to promote IP awareness camp/talk


and to provide best IP services to beneficiaries (MSME, startups, professionals from academics /
research institutes, entrepreneurs and researchers) in the whole Telangana and Andhra Pradesh
states. MSME can be the backbone for the existing and future high growth businesses with both
domestic and foreign companies investing in the ‘Make in India’ initiative and make significant
impact in the area of indigenisation. ‘Make in India with zero defect and zero ef fect’, is a
significant opportunity. The proposed centre will act as a helping hand to those MSMEs in the
following ways

• To create awareness about recognition of their rights over their ideas and products.

• To promote R&D and investment in the marketable products by conducting proper


freedom to operate search

• To prevent competitors from mimicking their ideas and products by proper filing of IPRs.

• To create the identity in the corporate sector by branding strategy and filing trademark.

• To increase the creditability and revenue generation through proper IP based contractual
agreements.

2. Structure of the Proposed Centre

3. Focussed Groups and Methodology

(i) Focussed Groups:

MSME, startups, professionals from academics/research institutes, aspiring students,


researchers and the associations working in the urban, rural and backward areas (Telangana and
Andhra Pradesh) towards the socio-economic development of the country.

(ii) Methodology:

➢ Partnering with all the Private / Public / Deemed / technical universities of Telangana &
Andhra Pradesh.

➢ Use of the social Media platform for the marketing of IPFC

➢ Conducting facilitating desk at the university / engineering colleges & research


organizations.

➢ Launching Certification Course on IPR at the Education Institution with nominal fee to
meet out the cost of the expenditure.

➢ Partnering with all the incubation centres especially with DST funded centres

➢ Partnering with Co Working spaces

➢ Regular Awareness Campus

➢ Training and Awareness Seminar for IP Sensitization

➢ Collaboration with Communities of GI Producers


The following activities will be conducted by the proposed IPR facilitation centre for
beneficiaries,

➢ To conduct IP awareness camp/talk with illustrative cases


➢ To conduct seminars on best IP practices, infringements, IP protection, opposition suit
and commercialization.
➢ To conduct workshops/short term training programmes on best IPR practice.

The following services will be provided by the proposed IPR facilitation centre for beneficiaries.

➢ Prior art landscaping and mapping


➢ Freedom to operate search and analysis
➢ Invalidation and infringement search and analysis
➢ Specification drafting for patent, industrial design, copyrights, trademarks, geometrical
indications etc.,
➢ Guidance for filing patent, industrial design, copyrights, trademarks, geometrical
indications etc.,
➢ Guidance to rectify the review comments.
➢ Technology and competitor watch
➢ Pilot Studies
