I. OBJECTIVES
A. Content Standards The pupils demonstrate understanding of
pet animals, farm animals, and wild animals; the different body parts, coverings, movements, and sounds of animals; the different habitats of animals; and the ways on how to take care of animals. B. Performance Standards The pupils should be able to distinguish pet, farm, and wild animals; tell the different animal body parts, coverings, and sounds; identify the type of animal based on its habitat; and take good care of animals. C. Learning Competencies/ •Define habitat Pupils’ Year-End GAD Cum Year-End Objectives •Name some animal habitats in the Philippines Party Party ( Write the LCcode for each) •Showing respect and care for animal habitats II. PROCEDURE A. Reviewing previous Lesson or Recall with the pupils the different types of animals through a game. Draw three columns presenting new lesson on the board and label them as pets, farm animals, and wild animals. Then split the class into three groups and assign them to a column. Tell the pupils to list down names of animals that fall in the category they are assigned to within two minutes. The group with the most number of correctly named animals wins the game. Prepare prizes for the pupils. B. Establishing a purpose for the Start the lesson by asking the class who among them have pet animals at home. Ask, lesson “Do you leave your pet outside the house? Where does your pet live?” Process the pupils’ responses. C. Presenting examples/ Introduce the term habitat. Continue the discussion about animal habitats by referring the pupils to Equip Yourself on pages 167 to 170 of the worktext. Explain each habitat to them. F. Developing Mastery Enrich the discussion by asking the class to name a habitat. Then call on a pupil and (Lead to Formative Assessment 3) have him/her give an animal that is living in the given habitat. G.
