Using the second method you can establish each record independently using the
Add function for each of the following records:
ARAN – to add the Customer Name/Address record
ARAB – to add the Account Base Segment record
ARAE – to add the Embossing record

SETUP ACTIVITY
In the next few sections you will add a new customer, a new account,
and a new embosser record independently using the Add function for each record.
During the initial add process, only a few fields will be completed. The Review
activities will be used to maintain your records.
To begin, add a new Customer Name/Address record. Use the add function
(ARAN).
Your instructor will provide the organization number to use. Write it on the line
below:
Organization number =
3. Type any number in the CUSTOMER NUMBER field. CMS does not
automatically generate customer numbers on the add screen.
6. Enter your name on name line 1. Do not complete any other fields at this time.
7. Press Enter on each page until you have “paged” through all 7 pages of the
Customer Name/Address record.
Your instructor will now discuss the fields on the Customer Name/Address
record.

RELATED FIELDS
CUSTOMER Identification number of the Customer Name/Address record.
NUMBER
OWNER/ Code that indicates whether to display information for the owner,
CO-OWNER co-owner, or both on subsequent screens. The values are:
0 = Both owner and co-owner
1 = Owner only (Default)
2 = Co-owner only.

This screen displays the Customer Name/Address records associated with the
account number entered on the Locate screen. In addition, this screen indicates the
association between each Customer Name/Address record and the account. Use
this screen to select a record for which you want to display additional information.
You can use the PF function keys to scroll through the Customer Name/Address
records associated with the account.
RELATED FIELDS
ASSOC Code that indicates the type of association between the Customer
Name/Address record and the account. The values are:
C = Customer (owner or co-owner)
A = Alternate customer
1 = Guarantor
2 = Cosigner
3 = Authorized signer
4 = Third party insured
5 = User defined.

RELATED FIELDS
NAME LINE 1 – 3 Two part field that identifies the name of the owner and a code
that indicates if this name is a personal name or a business name.
The second part of this field is a code that indicates the type of
name. This untitled field displays to the right of the NAME LINE 1 - 3
fields. The values are:
0 = Personal name (Default)
1 = Business name.
COUNTRY CODE Two part field that identifies the country portion of the mailing
address of the owner. The first part is the country code. The
second part is the name of the country. When you enter the
country code, CMS displays the name of the country.
CMS formats the mailing address based upon the country code
entered. Special routines are used for Canada, Mexico and
Great Britain.

TAX Two part field that identifies the tax identification number of the
IDENTIFICATION owner and a code that indicates if this number is a Social Security
NBR number or other tax identification number.
The first part of this field is a code that indicates whether the
number is a Social Security number or another tax identification
number. The values are:
0 = Social Security number (Default)
1 = Tax identification number
2 = Other identification number.
The second part of this field is the Social Security number or tax
identification number. If the first part of this field is 0 (Social
Security number), the second part must be nine numeric
characters only. If the first part of this field is 1 (tax identification
number), the second part can be up to 15 alphanumeric characters.

Name and Address Record
STATEMENT Version number of the Statement Message record to use for the
MESSAGE IND owner. The values are 0–9. The default is 0. You may create 10
different versions of statement messages.
WORK PHONE Two part field that indicates the work telephone number of the
NUMBER/FLAG owner and a code that indicates whether you have permission
from the owner to call them at this number.
The first part of this field is the work telephone number. The
second part of this field is a code that indicates whether you can
call the owner at work. The values are:
0 = Yes, call at work (Default)
1 = No, do not call at work.

This screen displays user defined codes, dates, and demographic information. You
can use the fields on this screen for specific information about an owner when the
standard fields in CMS are not suitable for your purposes. In addition, you can
customize the field names to identify the specific type of information in each
field.
