A) When do we use Present simple?-¿Cuándo se utiliza el presente simple?


 To talk about habits and routines. – Para hablar de hábitos y rutinas.

B) We usually use Adverbs of frequency with Present Simple.


Los adverbios de frecuencia se suelen utilizar con el presente simple.

AFFIRMATIVE NEGATIVE QUESTION


I always go to the park. I don’t always go to the park. Do I always go to the
park?
He sometimes does his homework. He doesn’t do his homework. Does he sometimes do his
homework?
He studies German. He doesn’t study German. Does he study German?
They sometimes get up early They don’t get up early Do they sometimes get up
early?
You have breakfast at seven o’clock. You don’t have breakfast at Do you have breakfast at

 Fíjate en el verbo de la frase afirmativa. En tercera persona del singular se añade una “s”, en
algunos casos “-es” o “-ies”). (He, she, it).
We add – “s” to the verb when the subject is 3rd person singular. (He, she, it)
Sometimes we add “es” or “-ies” to the verb, if the verb finishes in:

PRESENT SIMPLE. (SUBJECT- 3RD PERSON SINGULAR-HE /SHE/ IT)


“O” Go He goes
“SH” Finish She finishes
“CH” Teach She teaches
“SS” Pass He passes
“X” Tax It taxes
Consonant +”Y” Study He studies

 Para formar la oración en negativa necesitamos del auxiliar “don’t” o “doesn’t”.


 Doesn’t se utiliza sólo en tercera persona del singular, (he, she, it) y al verbo ya no le añadimos
“s”. Para el resto de personas necesitamos don’t.
 Para realizar una pregunta en presente simple, tenemos que empezar por el auxiliar.
 Does, cuando el sujeto es tercera persona del singular (he, she, it), y al verbo se le quita la “s”.
Do, para el resto de personas.
I always play tennis at ten o’clock.
Los adverbios de frecuencia aparecen delante del verbo.
I don’t always play tennis at ten o’clock.
Excepción:
- He is never late.
Con las formas del verbo “to be”, el adverbio aparece después del verbo.
Questions: Interrogative pronouns
When?: ¿Cuándo?- When do classes start?
Where?: ¿Dónde? -Where are you from?
How often? : ¿Con qué frecuencia? - How often do you play football?
How? : ¿Cómo?- How old are you? How are you?
What? : ¿Qué? , ¿Cuál?: What´s your name? What is this?
Why?: ¿Por qué?- Why are you so tired?
Which? : ¿Cuál? (Selección): Which is your favourite colour, green, black or white?
Who? : ¿Quién?: Who is your English teacher, Gonzalo or Rebeca?
How many / How much? - Cuánto /s?
How many: Contables.
How much?: Incontables. How much milk is in the fridge?
