Progress Report Card

Task 1:-
1. Create the following table of PROGRESS REPORT CARD.
2. Calculate the total marks of all subjects (Home --> Editing-->Using the AutoSum).
3. Find the Average of All Subjects.
4. Calculate the Highest & Lowest marks of all subject's (Using formula MAX and MIN)
5. Make a result (PASS/FAIL) on condition like 35 marks in all subjects out of 100.
(Using formula IF and AND condition).
6. Give grade if Average more than 70 "A" and more than 65 "B" or above 45 "C" and finally 35 then D
or otherwise fail.
7. Merge the column A1: J1 record's and give heading STUDENTS PROGRESS REPORT CARD, make an
Attractive format to table.
8. Rename the sheet to Students Report Card.
9. Create Folder in "(Local Disk (D :): Drive of Your Name".
10. Save this file with name is “Assignment 1 _Report Card".
11. Make password protection for Sheet1 with name of (ICIT@123).

Task 2:-

Write formula using cell name for the following expression.


State where the formula is placed.
i. Basic Pay = Working Days * Hourly Rate.
ii. Allowances are allocated at 10% of the Basic Pay.
iii. Gross Pay = Basic Pay + Allowances.
iv. Tax Deduction is calculated at 10% of the Gross Pay.
v. Net Pay = Gross Pay – Tax Deductions – NSSF Contributions.

Exercise Instructions:-
• Open the worksheet named Income and Expenses Projections.xls.
• Rename Sheet1 as Projections while Sheet 2 should now be Parameters.
• Calculate the Sales for the year 2013 using the percentage given in cell C5.
• Copy the formula across to the Year 2017.
• Calculate the different items that make up the Total Operating Costs using
the parameters in the Parameters sheet.
• (You should enter the formula for the Year 2012 and copy down to the
year 2017.
• Use Absolute Referencing effectively – F4).
• Hint: Total Cost of Goods Sold = Materials + Wages + Other Benefits +
Others
• Calculate the Total Operating Costs:
• Total Cost of Goods Sold + Total General and Administrative Expenses.
• Calculate the Interest on Loans:
• Calculate the Pre-tax Income.

Questions:-
 Find the name Lewis and replace it with Martin.
 Sort the data according to name in Ascending order.
 Insert a row at each change of name.
 Type the heading ‘Average’ in cell E13.
 Adjust the width of column E to view the contents in full.
 Copy the heading in E13 to cells: E22, E38, E50, E61, E74, E87, E98 and
E109.
 Use the AVERAGE function to calculate the average sales of all salesmen.
 Insert four blank rows above row 1.
 Insert a picture (Logo) into the worksheet.
 Resize the picture to Height 0.62 and Width 3.76 inches.
 Position the picture such that the bottom left corner of the picture is
within cell A4.
 Cut Bernard’s details (A18:F26) and paste them in Sheet 2, starting from
Cell A2.

Task 7:-

 Create the worksheet shown above.


 Calculate the Total Amount (Using the AutoSum features).
 Calculate the Average Amount: =Average (Start: End)
 Calculate the Maximum Sales Value in every month. =Max (Start: End)
 Calculate the Minimum Sales value in every month. =Min (Start: End)
 The commission shall depend on – if the average sales are more than 25000
the commission shall be calculated as 10% of average sales. If average sales
is less than 25000 the “NO COMMISSION”.
 Give appropriate border & Patterns to the cells use a different font and
color to make the work sheet attractive.
 Give the Total and Average in INR Currency Format from General option.
 Take a new row in upon table called 1st row and merge them. Give Heading:
Sales Commission Sheet. Save the sheet give it name Task 7.

Match Summary:
In 20 overs match, the north team played first and made 128 runs on the board with the loss of
5 wickets. In return for the target, the south team made a weak start and loses 3 wickets in 8
overs. But, this is not the end of the game. They made a comeback and mark a win in 18 overs
with the loss of 5 wickets. Now we need to prepare a reflecting chart out of it.

user’s attention. It is simple and quicker to view or to refer.
• Select Range B4:F24
• Insert Menu  Charts  Column  3D Column
• It will ask for Chart tile: - “Cricket Scoreboard” from Layout tabs Labels
 Center Overlay Title.
• Design Tab  Chart Layouts  Layout 8
• Next, you have to convert wicket fall lines with dots.
• For this, select your chart and go to Chart Tools DesignType Change
Chart Type. Now, you have a window to change the chart type.
• From that window, change the chart type to "Scatter Chart" for wicket fall.
And, convert them to a secondary axis.
• It will ask also for Axis :-
X Axis: - Create Horizontal Axis Title from Layout tab: - Title Below Axis
Y Axis: - Create Vertical Axis Title in Vertical Title from Layout Tab.
• Give Design to chart from design Style 42.
• Save the sheet give it name Task 8.

• Create an Excel worksheet and enter the following data.
• Save the worksheet with the name: Payroll – your own name.
• Rename the sheet tab payroll and delete all the other sheets.
• Enter a formula to calculate the number of years the first employee has
worked for the company represented in the above worksheet. You will
need to subtract the date the employee was hired from the current data,
which is in cell B2, and then divide the different by the number of days in a
year. For the purpose of this assignment, do not account for leap years.

Objectives:
 Working with the IF Statement.
 For the above table find the following:
 TAX (If ITEM PRICE is less than 100, TAX is 50, and otherwise it should be 100).
 TOTAL PRICE BEFORE TAX =NO. OF ITEMS * ITEM PRICE.
 TOTAL PRICE AFTER TAX = TOTAL PRICE BEFORE TAX + TAX.
 RATE (If TOTAL PRICE AFTER TAX > 3500 then the rate is “HIGH”, otherwise it is
REASONABLE.
 Find Count of Items, Average of Taxes, Min Item PRICE and Max Item PRICE.
