The purpose of this log book is to provide you with a valuable record of progress with
your research study leading to the award of your degree.

Completion of the document is mandatory, and it is your responsibility to

update it on regular basis. Be aware that it will be reviewed regularly through
the following approaches:

• By your supervisors during their regular progress meetings with you

• By your Faculty as an integral part of considering your progress as a
continuous assessment
• And also in the Final Examination evaluation.

You should take this research log book with you whenever you meet your
supervisor and you should individually fill the log book and should be certified
by the supervisor.
You should duly fill the compulsory meetings with the supervisor and get it
signed by the supervisor on the same day. Late entries are not entertained and
the supervisor will not sign late or wrong entries.
The progress report at the end of the document (Page no 09 and 10) should be
handed over (one copy per group) with the research proposal to evaluate the
progress of your group.
Each student must individually sign the agreement at the end of this document
(Page no 11) and hand over to the internal supervisor at the beginning of the
research.

Please adhere to update the log book regularly and to assure the security/ safety
of this log book.

Knowledge and Barriers Toward Cervical Cancer Screening Among Women in the
Gynecology Units and Clinics of a Selected Hospital in Galle District, Sri Lanka

1.2. General Objective: -

To assess the knowledge and barriers of cervical cancer screening among women,
registered in gynecology unit and clinic in the selected Hospital in Southern province.

1.3. Specific Objectives: -

• To assess the knowledge about cervical cancer among the women in Gynecology units
and Gynecology clinics in the selected Hospital in Southern province.
• To assess the knowledge of risk factors towards cervical cancer among the women in
Gynecology units and Gynecology clinics in the selected Hospital in Southern province.
