Introduction to Electronics Engineering

Not : 1. Answer any five questions choosing one full question from each unit.

1 a) With relevant sketches and waveforms, analyze bridge rectifier with a 8 3 1 1

Illustrate with relevant diagrams and equations, the switching action of a 5 2 1 1

Design a Zener regulator for the following specification. Vo = 5V, load 7 3 1 2

current 10mA, Zener wattage = 400 mW, input voltage = 10V ± 2V.

2 a) With neat circuit diagram and frequency response, analyze the working 8 3 1 1
of single stage R-C coupled amplifier.
Identify the various blocks of DC regulated power supply and also 7 3 1 1

comment on the need of each block.
In a full wave rectifier with C filter the output DC voltage is 10 V and 5 3 1 2
c) load current is 10 mA. Calculate the value of capacitance required such
that the output DC voltage will have ripple 0.001.

b) Design an inverting amplifier circuit using OPAMP for the gain of 20. 4 3 2 2

frequency of oscillations.
d) With the help of neat circuit diagram, analyze the operation of an RC 6 3 2 1
phase shift oscillator using OPAMP.

4 a) Compare the ideal and practical characteristics of an OPAMP 6 3 2 1


With relevant circuit and waveforms, analyze how OPAMP can be used 5 3 2 1

as non-inverting amplifier.
With the help of neat circuit diagram, explain the operation of Wien 9 3 2 2
c) bridge oscillator using Op-Amp. Also design for a signal of frequency
