to enhance overall performance and productivity.

Key reasons problem solving is important:

1. Innovation and Improvement: Problem solving often leads to innovation,


whether it’s developing new products, improving services, or streamlining
processes. By addressing challenges, individuals and organizations can
drive progress.
2. Decision Making: Good problem-solving skills are foundational to making
informed, effective decisions, especially when confronted with uncertainty
or complex choices.
3. Efficiency and Productivity: Resolving problems effectively and

3. Generating Potential Solutions

 Objective: Brainstorm possible solutions to address the problem.


 Activities: Engage in creative thinking techniques such as brainstorming,
mind mapping, or lateral thinking. The goal is to come up with as many
possible solutions as possible, without evaluating them immediately.
 Outcome: A list of potential solutions or ideas.

4. Evaluating and Selecting the Best Solution

 Objective: Assess each potential solution based on feasibility, impact, and


risks.
 Activities: Use criteria such as cost, time, resources, and expected
outcomes. Tools like SWOT analysis (Strengths, Weaknesses,
Opportunities, Threats) or cost-benefit analysis can be helpful in this phase.
 Outcome: Selection of the most effective and viable solution.

5. Implementing the Solution

 Objective: Put the chosen solution into action.


 Activities: Develop an implementation plan, assign tasks, allocate
resources, and monitor progress. Ensure clear communication and
involvement from relevant stakeholders.

of causes.
