applied for. The following highlights the rounds involved and the expectation from candidates in each one
of them.
INTERVIEW PROCESS
● Machine Coding
● Problem Solving & Data Structure
● Design & Architecture
● Hiring Manager
Machine Coding (common for everyone) - A 90 minute written test which involves coding out a given
problem statement. Candidates will be shared with some mock UIs and/or API endpoints (if applicable)
and they are expected to translate the mocks into a working application. The expectations from this
round are:
● Functional code which covers all use cases provided in the problem statement
● Modular and clear code
Face to face interview primarily focussed on problem solving and/or use of good data
structures/algorithms to aid in solving the problem. Expectations from this round are:
1. Understand and clearly communicate the approach with the interviewer
2. Clean and working code with all the edge cases covered
3. Focus on performance (server scale or runtime client performance, basic understanding of Big O
notation etc.)
Face to face interview primarily focussed on React Native concepts, Some areas of focus for the round
are:
Face to face primarily focussed on architecture and large scale mobile application design. The
round aims at taking up a large/fuzzy problem and allow the candidate to drive the solution to the
problem. The round brings architectural design patterns and associated technologies together to
solve a given problem. Typical problems revolve around scalable mobile application design,
networking, caching, API structure etc.
HIRING MANAGER
Face to face interview of the candidate with the hiring manager. This round focuses on the
candidate’s cultural background and fit into the team (the hiring is for). It provides space for the
candidate to share previous experiences related to work e.g. projects, initiatives,
accomplishments, team camaraderie, conflict resolution etc. It should be noted that for SDE2-
Mobile, the Product Sense round can be merged into the HM round as well, thereby reducing one
separate round because anyway HM round does cover aspects of the Product Sense round as
well.
