EPS B101 Introduction To Psychology
This is a pre-requisite course in Psychology whose purpose is to lay the foundation of psychological
perspectives and knowledge to learners to enhance better understanding of subsequent Psychology courses.
Specific objectives
By the end of the course, the learner should be able to:
• Describe the nature and scope of psychology
• Discuss the nature and methods of psychological enquiry.
• Discuss the concept of learning & theories of learning.
• Explain motivation and its implications in learning
• Discuss the concepts of sensation & perception.
• Discuss frustration and ego defense mechanisms
• Explain the factors contributing human development.
• Describe psychological disorders
