CES 001/ Matrix Analysis Of Structures
BSCE/ 3rd Year/ CES32S2/ Assignment No. 1

1. Name some of the commercially available Features: Used for structural analytic and design
structural analysis software used in the like support static, dynamic and P-delta analysis.
Philippine industry Also create 3d model it helps calculate different
support like steel and concrete.
 STAAD.PRO
 RCDC
 Microsoft Excel
 ETABS
2. Provide short information e.g. developer,
date of release, latest version, etc (and a
photo of the logo of the software and graphic
user interface) of each software

Developer: Bentley System

Initial Release: unknown

Latest Version: RCDC (SACD) V23

File Format: .rcdx

Developer: It was developed by Research Graphic User Interface:

Engineer International (REI) in 1997 and was
bought by Bentley System in 2005

Initial Release: 1997

Latest Version: STAAD.PRO 2024

File Format: .std

Graphic User Interface:

Features: It has and automated reinforced

concrete design for beams, columns, slab, wall,
and foundation. It is also has a detailed drawing
and report of bar bending, design calculation,
and material takeoff.
Graphic User Interface:

Developer: Microsoft

Initial Release: 1985

Latest Version: Microsoft Excel 2024

Features: ETABS features are 3d modeling
File Format: .xls,, .xlsx, .csv, .xlsm, .xltx and visualization it can create detailed 3d
model of the structures and has also an
Graphic User Interface: advance analysis and multi material designs.
3. How does these softwares analyze
complicated structures within seconds or
minutes? Give a brief discussion (with
illustrations if needed)
- These software tools, such as STAAD.Pro,
RCDC, ETABS, and even Microsoft Excel have
the system that have an advanced algorithms
solving structure within seconds for instances if
we want to solve for simple stress, loads and
reaction for a beam it will take a lot of time if
you use manual solving but with this advance
software technologies, We now just need to
input the values for the system to compute it.
Features: It used for data organization,
formulas and function, unit conversion, and it It also has a 3d Modeling features that we can
can also analyze and solve for simple beams use for us to have reference and visualization
design, stress calculation and structural loads on what we are dealing with in the construction.
This software technologies saves us a lot of life
specially in getting the proper materials and
proper planning we need to complete our
projects.

Developer: Computer and Structure Inc (CSI)
