Lesson Plan in Empowerment Technology

Content Standards: The learners demonstrate an understanding of:


ICT in the context of global communication for
the _________ Track.
Performance Standards: The learners shall be able to at the end of the 2-
week period independently compose an insightful
reflection paper on the nature of ICT in the
context of their lives, society, and professional
tracks.
Learning Competencies and Code: Compare and contrast the nuances of varied
online platforms, sites, and content to best
achieve specific class objectives or address
situational challenges.

Quarter: First Week: 1 Day: 1

I. Objectives:

At the end of the lesson, 100% of the learners are expected to:
a. Get oriented of the overview of Empowerment Technology Subject and its
Curriculum Guide
b. Express their expectation throughout the semester; and
c. State the importance of ICT literacy in today’s digital era.

II. Content

Subject Matter: Introduction to Information and Communication Technologies


Integration: The role of Technologies in educational development, in
conducting research and in business industry.
Strategies: Game; picture analysis; Discussion.
Materials: PPT presentation, Laptop, TV, Computer units with peripherals.

Preliminaries Opening Prayer


Greetings
Classroom management
Checking the attendance
Presentation of New Pass the “lucky ball” game.
Lesson
⮚ Mechanics: Music will be played , while its playing you
need to pass the ball to the person seated next to you. Once
the music stops playing the person holding the ball will
share his expectations about the subject.

⮚ Feedbacking of expectations will follow

⮚ The teacher will deliver the overview of the Subject


Empowerment Technology by doing the following via
powerpoint presentation:
1. Present the subject/course title
2. Present the Curriculum Guide overview
3. Present the list of expected outputs based on the
Competencies.
4. Present the topic and the objective of the day

B. Analysis The following questions will then be asked to the students:

◆ What are these things that you see in the picture?

◆ What is ICT?

◆ How important is ICT in your daily Life?

C. Abstraction Sharing of information


The teacher will encourage students to share additional
information relative to the following topics;
1. Information and Communication Technology
2. ICT in the Philippines

(Please see Appendix A-1 for the handouts)

The teacher may use the following guide questions for the
group discussion;
a. What are the latest development of ICT today?
b. How does it differs from the ICT 10 years ago?

D. Application Ask the students to make a short essay about “ ICT and Me” in
not less than 200 words using a 1 whole sheet of paper.

IV. Assessment/Evaluation

Rubrics of rating the essay should be presented for students’ comments


and suggestions.

Survey neighbors who are engaged in business. Identify a good prospect to
interview in preparation for our next activity.
