Performance Task

The document outlines the performance standard, transfer goal, and performance task for Grade 8 Mathematics, focusing on real-life applications of polynomials, rational algebraic expressions, and linear equations. Students are tasked with creating a visual presentation for a Math Challenge Competition, which will be evaluated based on content, presentation, communication, and mathematical understanding. A rubric is provided to assess various criteria including understanding of concepts, content accuracy, visual appeal, clarity, use of visual aids, engagement, presentation skills, and adherence to requirements.

Performance Standard, Transfer Goal, & Performance Task in GRASPS

First Quarterly
Grade 8 MATHEMATICS
Performance Standard: The learner is able to formulate real-life problems involving factors of
polynomials, rational algebraic expressions, linear equations and inequalities in two variables, systems of
linear equations and inequalities in two and solve these problems accurately using a variety of strategies

Transfer Goal:

• The student on their own and in the long run will be able to create a visual presentation that
formulate the use of factors of polynomials, rational algebraic expressions, linear equations systems of
linear equations in two variables

• Create a visual presentation to be use in a forum.

Performance Task (GRASPS)

In the preparation for the Math Challenge Competition, the Mathematics Teachers Association of the
Philippines will be held a forum for a regular and talented student who wants to join the contest . For all
the member of the Association, the leader asked to create a Presentation that will help the aspiring
contestant/student in reviewing the topics in Grade 8 Mathematics. The assigned topic to you is about
“Application of Different Function in Real Life Scenario”. As a member, your tasked is to create a Visual
Presentation on how to apply the concepts of Different Function in Real Life. In your visual presentation
you can use to formulate the use of factor of polynomials, rational algebraic expressions, linear
equations and inequalities in two variables, systems of linear equations and inequalities in two variables
or linear functions in solving problems in real life situation. Your presentation will be evaluated by the
Board Members of the Association by Content, Presentation, Communication and Mathematical
Understanding.

expressions, linear equations and inequalities in two variables, systems of linear equations and
inequalities in two variables and linear functions in solving problems in real life situation.

Roles – A member of Mathematics Teachers Association of the Philippines

Audience – Board Member Mathematics Teachers Association of the Philippines

Product – Create a Visual Presentation on how to apply the concept of involving factors of polynomials,
rational algebraic expressions, linear equations and inequalities in two variables, and solve these
problems accurately using a variety of strategies.
