THE PRINT MEDIA AND MULTIMEDIA.


An information is very vital for us to be able to know a certain topic or issue that
are happening to our surroundings. According to Dictionary.com, the word media first
recorded in 1920-1925. Media, like data, is the plural form of a word borrowed directly
from Latin. The singular, medium, early developed the meaning “an intervening agency,
means, or instrument” and was first applied to newspapers two centuries ago. In the
1920s media began to appear as a singular collective noun, sometimes with the plural
medias. This singular use is now common in the fields of mass communication and
advertising. There are a lot of ways for you to acquire information from media and with
this essay we will focus only with the two, the print media and multimedia, we will also
know the differences and similarities of these two medias.
The difference between print media and multimedia is that, the print media is a
media that we frequently used in our daily life. These are physically produced materials
for the means of information and also for communication. The example of these kind of
media are the newspaper, books, journals, mails, magazines, posters, and etc..The print
media played a vital rule in the means of communication and information in the sense
that it helps you focus more in reading the content of that specific print media that you
are reading. Print media is also a source of primary sources as the print media is
permanent and irrevocable. While in the contrary, the multimedia is a media that is
composed of multiple media such as, audio, images, texts, videos, and animations. In
the print media you are to focus only in reading text while in the multimedia you will be
able to send feedback, and can make dynamic dialogue between the reader and the
creator . In multimedia the information is not limited as it can be accessed by everybody
through internet around the world.
In conclusion, both print media and multimedia are used in giving information,
educating, and also entertaining the readers or audiences. These two medias are used
to provide narratives that shapes the opinion and perspective of the readers or
audiences. As a reader or audience you need to consider also using the ethical
accuracy of the, biasis and representation of everything that you read, watch, or heard
on these media because, these all medias are vulnerable to fake news. With these all
we now be able to determine the differences and similarities of these two medias. And
we must also remember that in using media we need to know first if that certain articles
or videos are reliable for us to trust because as the media evolve the people faking the
information also evolve, so as we go along with this technological innovation we always
need to remember "to say no, to fake news ".
