Vill - Program Scope
> Computer Science is a very vast discipline. The course trains the students of the basics and different
aspects of computer engineering, It includes foundations of computer systems, computer architecture &
organization, networking, the theory of computation, database systems, electronics, operating systems,
programming and website designing, e-commerce & multimedia applications, principles of programming
languages, software engineering, hardware engineering, etc.
> Students also have an option of appearing for GATE exam whose scorecard is evaluated by various
government organizations for recruitment. Computer engineers can also get numerous jobs in the private
firms and top companies like TCS, Wipro, Microsoft, Google, Infosys, Accenture, HCL, Facebook,
Cognizant, Adobe, Oracle, Sun Microsystems, Flipkart, IBM, etc
1X- Program Specific Criteria
Core Technical Knowledge: The curriculum should cover fundamental areas of CSE including algorithms, data
structures, programming languages, computer organization and architecture, operating systems, databases,
software engineering principles, computer networks and theory of computation.
Mathematics and Science Foundation: The program should provide a strong foundation in mathematics,
including calculus, discrete mathematics and linear algebra, as well as relevant scientific principles that
underpin computer science, information technology, such as logic and probability theory.
Breadth of Computer Science and Engineering: The curriculum should offer a broad range of elective
courses that allow students to explore various areas of computer science such as artificial intelligence,
machine learning, data science, computer graphics, human-computer interaction, cyber security and
software development.
Laboratory and Project Experience: The Program should provide hands-on-laboratory experiences to
reinforce theoretical concepts and develop practical skills. Project based courses or capstone projects that
require students to apply their knowledge and skills to solve real- world problems are also essential.
Professional skills and ethics: CSE Program should emphasize the development of professional skills,
including communication, teamwork, problem-solving, critical thinking and ethical considerations. Students
should understand the ethical and soci
implications of computing and prepared to adhere to professional
standards.
Continuous Improvement and Assessment: CSE Program should have mechanisms in place for continuous
improvement and assessment of student learning outcomes. This involves regular evolution of the
curriculum, feedback from industry professionals, alumni and students, and incorporation of emerging trends
and technologies.
