General Instructions:
Read the following instructions very carefully and strictly follow them:
(i) This question paper contains 38 questions. All questions are compulsory.
(ii) This question paper is divided into five sections – A, B, C, D and E.
(iii) In Section A, Questions no. 1 to 18 are multiple choice questions (MCQs)
and questions number 19 and 20 are Assertion – Reason based questions
of 1 mark each.
(iv) In Section B, Questions 21 to 25 are very short answer (VSA) type
questions carrying 2 marks each.
(v) In Section C, Questions 26 to 31 are short answer (SA) type questions
carrying 3 marks each.
(vi) In Section D, Questions 32 to 35 are long answer (LA) type questions
carrying 5 marks each.
(vii) In Section E, Questions 36 to 38 are case study-based questions carrying 4
marks each.
(viii)There is no overall choice. However, an internal choice has been provided
in 2 questions in section B, 2 questions in Section C, 2 questions in Section
D and 3 questions in section E.

21. The traffic lights at three different road crossings change after every 48
seconds, 72 seconds and 108 seconds respectively. If they all change
simultaneously at 8 a.m. then at what time will they again change
simultaneously?

22. (a) The minute hand of a clock is 12 cm long. Find the area swept by it in
35 minutes.

(b) A chord of a circle of radius 14 cm makes a right angle at the centre.
Find the area of the minor segment of the circle.

23. (a) Evaluate

28. Each one of A and B has some money. If A gives Rs. 30 to B then B will have

29. (i) Find the zeros of the polynomial f (x) = x2 – 2 and verify the
relationship between its zeros and coefficients.

32. A solid cylinder of diameter 12 cm and height 15 cm is melted and recast into
12 toys in the shape of a right circular cone mounted on a hemisphere. Find
the radius of the hemisphere and the total height of the toy, if the height of the
conical part is thrice its radius.

33. (a)
(i) Prove that if a line is drawn parallel to one side of a triangle to
intersect the other two sides in distinct points then the other two sides
are divided in the same ratio.
(ii) In a Δ ABC, a line DE ∥ BC intersects AB in D and AC in E, then

go 32 km upstream than to return downstream to the same spot. Find the
speed of the stream.

36. A garden is in the shape of rectangle. Gardener grew sapling of Ashoka tree
on the boundary of garden at the distance of 1 meter from each other. He
wants to decorate the garden with rose plants. He chooses triangular region
inside the park to grow rose plants. On the above situation, gardener took help
from the students of class 10th. They made a chart for it which looks as the
figure given below.

(i) If A is taken as origin, what is the coordinate of Point P?


(ii) If C is taken as origin, what are the co-ordinates of points P, Q and R?

OR
If B is taken as origin, what are the co-ordinates of points P, Q and R?
(iii) What is distance between P and Q if origin is taken A?

37. Road Roller: A road roller (sometimes called a roller compactor, or just roller)
is a compactor-type engineering vehicle used to compact soil, gravel,

concrete, or asphalt in the construction of roads and foundations. Similar
rollers are used also at landfills or in agriculture. Road rollers are frequently
referred to as steamrollers, regardless of their method of propulsion.

RCB Machine Pvt Ltd started making road roller 10 year ago. Company
increased its production uniformly by fixed number every year. The company
produces 800 rollers in the 6th year and 1130 rollers in the 9th year.
(i) What was the increase in the company’s production every year?

(ii) What was the company’s production in the 21st year?

What was the company’s total production of the first 6 years?
(iii) In which year the company’s production was 1350 rollers?

38. Lakshman is riding on a hot air balloon. After reaching at height x at point P,
he spots a lorry parked at B on the ground at an angle of depression of 30°.

The balloon rises further by 50 metres at point Q and now he spots the same
lorry at an angle of depression of 45° and a car parked at C at an angle of
depression of 30°.

(i) What is the relation between the height x of the balloon at point P and
distance d between point A and B?

(ii) What is the distance AB on the ground?

What is the new height of the balloon at point Q?
(iii) What is the distance AC on the ground?
