Instruction: Unlock the words that describe the meaning by
decoding the numbers to its parallel letters in alphabets. Write your
answer on the blank before the meaning.
Example:(2-5-1-4) BEAD

1. (14-15-21-14) A word (or group of words) that names a person,


place, thing, or idea.
2. (22-5-18-2) A word that describes an action, state, or occurrence.
3. (1-4-10-5-3-20-9-22-5) A word that modifies a noun or pronoun,
giving more information about its qualities or characteristics.
4. (7-5-18-21-14- 4) A verb that functions as a noun.it is the –ing
form of a verb.

Categorize Me!
Instruction: The class will be divided into 4 groups, and each group
will be given an envelope with different words on it. Your task is to
put the words in their rightful category. The categories are nouns,
verbs, adjectives, and the -ing form of the verb or the gerund. There
are 6 words in each group, choose 2- 3 words and use it in one
sentence.

Words to categorize:
Noun: Teacher, Classroom, Lesson, Assignment, Textbook
Verb: Teach, Learn, Write, Explain, Understand
Adjectives: Educational, Informative, Interactive, Creative, Beautiful

1. Define parallelism;
2. Correct sentences with faulty parallelism; and
3. Construct sentences using parallelism.
PARALLELISM
Parallel structure also known as Parallelism means
using the same pattern to show two or more ideas.

Parallelism refers to using similar words, clauses,


phrases, sentence structure, or other grammatical
elements to emphasize similar ideas in a sentence.
It makes the sentence concise, clear, and easy to
read.
3 BASIC RULES TO REMEMBER IN USING
PARALLELISM OR PARALLEL STRUCTURE.
1. It should be used when elements are joined by
coordinating conjunctions.

For example:
He loves singing and dance.
The word "and" is the coordinating conjunction

elements in a form of a list or a series.

Example
