Now it's time to unveil the full list of Top 75 B-schools from Rankings 2011-12. For you to understand these scores, we first present to you an explanation of the different parameters. Input Scores based on: - Number of applications per seat - Quality of student intake, as determined by the candidates academic history and entrance exam cut-off scores - Percentage of students admitted with professional degrees (like CA/Medicine/Engineering) - Work experience of students admitted Process Scores based on: - Size & quality of full time faculty: Quality of faculty is judged on percentage of faculty with a PhD & their teaching experience - Size and quality of visiting faculty - Industry exposure: Based on quantity and quality of industry speakers visiting campus - Physical Infrastructure: Residential campus (that promotes holistic learning) is given higher weightage than non-residential. Output Scores based on: - Placements performance: As measured by percentage of students placed and their Median salary. - Academic output: As determined by the number of Research Papers, Consultancy assignments, and MDPs (These are only top line parameters. Many sub-parameters were analysed to arrive at final rankings.) These detailed break-ups give you a clearer idea of the strengths and areas of improvements of all Top 75 B-schools. The MBAUniverse.com B School Rankings 2011-12 are primarily aimed at MBA aspirants who are aiming to join B schools of their dreams in 2012, but are confused with respect to which B-schools they should apply to.
To guide lakhs of MBA aspirants to choose the right B-schools, MBAUniverse.com released its second comprehensive ranking of 75 leading B-schools in India on 8 December 2011. In this special series, based on comprehensive rankings data, we will analyze the strengths and areas of improvements for the top B-schools. This analysis will help you, the MBA aspirant, understand B-schools better, and take an informed decision - which B-schools to apply and seek admissions. We start by analysing data for the numero uno B-school on our rankings - IIM A. How IIM A performs on our Rankings As you can see from the Table 1 below, the B school ranks No.1 on Input Parameter, No. 2 on Process Parameter, and No. 2 in Output parameter as well. IIMA, the No.1 rank holder, received the highest number of applications from MBA aspirants for the new session 2011-12. The B school received 2,05,699 applications for 305 seats. This is the reason that the B school is often rated as the toughest to get into. The B school also had the highest entrance exam cut off for admissions, which was CAT 99.81 percentile. Our survey data shows that IIMA also boasts of the highest number of permanent faculty -88 distinguished faculty members teach at IIMA. IIMA provides the very high median salary of Rs. 15,15,000. This is second only to FMS Delhi's median salary. The other things that make IIMA No. 1 The B-school entered the 50th year of its journey on December 11, 2010.
