Question: Ask a question that you want to answer


when you present your project.
Example: Does the size of a raft affect the amount of
weight it can carry?

Hypothesis: Is a statement that could answer


your question. You must be able to test the hypothesis.
Example: A bigger raft can carry more weight.

Predictions: You predict what is going to happen. You will


observe if your hypothesis is correct.
Example: “I predicted I should be able to add more
weight to a bigger raft than to a smaller raft. “

WRITTEN REPORT
Title Page: The first page in the report must
include: title of the project, your name, grade, and
sponsor name.

Completed acknowlegment page: The second


page in the report should thank all the individuals
who helped you in the project.

Table of contents: This page provides the


reader with a list of the different parts of the
project and the page number on which each
section can be found.

Materials: List all the materials that were used in


your experiment.

Vocabulary: Include a list of new vocabulary


words you learned while doing your project (at
least 5 words). Must include a picture of each of
the words.
INSTRUCTIONS SHEET

Hypothesis: State your hypothesis. What do you
think is going to happen.

Research: Share your background information you


collected about your topic. Must be summarized and
in your own words.

Procedure: List and describe the steps taken to complete


your project in chronological order.

Results: Tell what happened when you did your


project. Show what happened with pictures.

Conclusion: Write a brief statement explaning why


a project turned out the way it did. It should tell us
wether the hypothesis was proven or not.

Last page must include the sources you used to search your topic.
Remember you will be graded in proper use of spelling, grammar,
punctuation and capitalization.
