About the Client
Phi Partners is partnering with BNP Paribas CIB, which has over $1.71tn of assets under
management through its investment trust and wealth management advisory businesses.
Our partner provides various investor services and capital-raising solutions to corporations,
financial institutions, private equity, and public-sector organisations. The bank has recently
invested significantly across its capital markets business and technology groups and has
hired numerous world-class professionals in the financial industry.

About the Programme


BNP Paribas’ Rapid Application Development (RAD) group is a global team located within
the Front Office responsible for developing and managing risk and PnL systems across
multiple asset classes, particularly for Equity Derivatives.

Due to the increasing regulatory-driven business requirements and trade populations, BNP
Paribas has launched a global initiative to enhance their primary Risk and PnL system’s
capabilities and efficiencies, known as FAST.

FAST primarily conducts risk calculations of trading activities through various metrics like
VaR and Stress Testing, and consolidates intra-day PnL results based on real-time
information. Therefore, Phi is looking for a Rapid Application Developer to work on this
initiative in Paris.

Key Responsibilities
The consultant will be responsible for conducting maintenance of the risk management and
PnL reporting systems to ensure that it performs optimally and is up to date with the latest
regulatory requirements.

Another responsibility is to conduct enhancements on market data contribution systems.


The consultant will also work closely with Traders, Risk Managers, and the development
team to understand the business requirements and work towards a robust and scalable
application design.

The Ideal Candidate


Necessary Skills:
• 1-3 year of experience in Java
• Solid understanding and experience of object-oriented programming practices (OOP)
• Excellent analytical and communication skills; Should be able to work with trading desks,
business management, and technology team to build and deliver solutions
Nice-to-have Skills:
• Possesses a good understanding of Financial Markets, Equity Derivatives trading
• Previous experience in Front Office Risk and PnL support and development is highly
desirable
