31. In a parallelogram ABCD, E and F are the mid-points of sides AB and CD respectively
(see given Fig.). Show that the line segments AF and EC trisect the diagonal BD.

32. In right triangle ABC, right angled at C, M is the mid-point of hypotenuse AB. C is joined
to M and produced to a point D such that DM = CM. Point D is joined to point B (see given Fig.).
Show that:
(i) ∆AMC≅ ∆BMD
(ii) ∠DBC is a right angle.
(iii) ∆DBC ≅∆ACB

ABC and DBC are two isosceles triangles on the same base BC and vertices A and D are on the
same side of BC (see given Fig.). If AD is extended to intersect BC at P, show that

(iii) AP bisects ∠A as well as ∠D.
(iv) AP is the perpendicular bisector of BC.
Prove that Angles opposite to equal sides of an isosceles triangle are equal.
33. Prove that, The angle subtended by an arc at the centre is double the angle subtended by it at
any point on the remaining part of the circle.
OR
A circular park of radius 20m is situated in a colony. Three boys Ankur, Syed and David are sitting
at equal distance on its boundary each having a toy telephone in his hands to talk each other. Find the
length of the string of each phone.
34. A conical tent is 9 m high and the radius of the base is 12 m. (Use π = 3. 14)
(i) What is the cost of the canvas required to make it, if a square metre canvas costs Rs 10 ?
(ii) How many persons can be accommodated in the tent, if each person requires 2 m2 area on the
ground and 15 m3 of space to breathe in ?
35. Consider the marks, out of 100, obtained by 51 students of a class in a test, (as given in Table).
Draw a histogram and a frequency polygon for the given table on same graph paper.
SECTION – E
36. Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao (BBBP) is a personal campaign of the Government of India that aims to
generate awareness and improve the efficiency of welfare services intended for girls.
In a school, a group of (x + y) teachers, (x2 + y2) girls and (x3 + y3) boys organised a campaign on
Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao. In the group there are 10 teachers and 58 girls.
(i) Identity x3 + y3 = ?
(ii) Using above information, find the value of xy.
(iii) Find the number of boys.

Find the values of x and y .
37. Isosceles triangles were used to construct a bridge in which the base (unequal side) of an isosceles
triangle is 4 cm and its perimeter is 20 cm.
(i) What is the length of equal sides.
(ii) Write the Heron’s formula for a triangle.
(iii) What is the area of highlighted triangle ?
OR
If the sides of the triangle are in the ratio 3:5:7 and its perimeter is 300m. Find its area.
38. A farmer has a circular garden as shown in the picture below. He has a different type of tree, plants
and flower plants in his garden. In the garden there are two mango trees A and B at a distance of
AB=10m. Similarly has two Ashok trees at the same distance of 10m as shown at C and D. AB subtends
∠AOB=120° at the center O, The perpendicular distance of AC from center is 5m and the radius of the
circle is 13m.
