Abstract:
Sickle Cell Anaemia (SCA) is a hereditary blood disorder characterized by
abnormal haemoglobin, leading to distorted red blood cells and various clinical complications. In this research paper, we present an innovative approach leveraging Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) algorithms for the prediction of Sickle Cell Anaemia. Our aim is to develop an accurate and efficient predictive model to identify individuals at risk of SCA. The research methodology involves the collection of a comprehensive dataset comprising clinical records, genetic information, and relevant biomarkers associated with SCA. We employ state-of-the-art AI and ML algorithms, including but not limited to support vector machines, decision trees, and neural networks, to analyse and extract meaningful patterns from the dataset. Feature selection and optimization techniques are implemented to enhance the model's performance. Preliminary findings demonstrate promising results in the prediction of Sickle Cell Anaemia, with the developed AIML algorithm showcasing high sensitivity and specificity. The model's accuracy is further validated through cross- validation techniques and comparisons with existing diagnostic methods. Additionally, the study explores the interpretability of the model's predictions, contributing to the understanding of key factors influencing SCA development. In conclusion, our research signifies the potential of AI and ML in predicting Sickle Cell Anaemia, providing a valuable tool for early identification and intervention. The developed algorithm holds promise for future integration into clinical practice, contributing to more effective management and personalized healthcare strategies for individuals at risk of SCA.
