Practical End of Term 3 Exam


IMPORTANT INSTRUCTIONS:
 This Exam consists of three parts.

 You must attempt all questions in the exam.

– You have to prepare a word processing file using MS Office Word


2010.
– You have to prepare a presentation file using MS Office PowerPoint
2010.
– You have to prepare a presentation file using MS Office Excel 2010.

 Please make sure to create a folder on your desktop and save it with you
<Name >_<StudentID> and inside the folder you should save the Word
document, PowerPoint presentation and the Excel workbook.

 Please make sure to save your answers to the questions below separately
using the following naming convention <Name >_<StudentID>.

Example: Noureddine_00007

 You must submit your answers by uploading them to your teacher’s USB
flash.

Part 1 - Microsoft Word

I. Using MS Word complete the following tasks: [20 marks]

1. Create a folder on the desktop and save the folder with your <Name > and your
<StudentID>. (1 mark)

2. Open a new MS Word file and type the following text given in the box below.
(2 marks)

Computer Use Policy

The computers, electronis media and servises provided by STS are primarily for
study use to assist students in the berformance of their studies. Limited, occasional,
or incidental use of electronic media (sending or receiving) for bersonal,
nonbusiness purposes is understandaple and acceptable, and all such use should be
done in a manner that does not megatively affect the systems' use for their study
purposes. However, students are expected to demonstrate a sense of responsipility
and not abuse this brivilege.
Privacy and Personal Rights
All users of the school network and computing recources are expected to respect the
privacy and personnal rights of others.

3. Save the file as Name_StudentID.docx (1 mark)

4. Correct any spelling errors displayed in the given text. (1 mark)

5. Format the entire document as given below. (2 marks)

 Line spacing: 1.15


 Font: Calibri
 Font size: 16
 Align: left

6. Make the left and right margins 5 cm. (1 mark)

7. Make the top and bottom margins 5 cm. (1 mark)

8. Find all the instances of “STS” and replace them with “ADVETI”. (1 mark)

9. Select the heading “COMPUTER USE POLICY” and format it as given below. (1 mark)

 Font color: Red Style: underline Align: center


 Change all the letters to UPPERCASE

10. Format the heading “Privacy and Personal Rights” with Style: Heading 1. (1 mark)

11. Add page numbers to the bottom, right side of the footer. (1 mark)

12. Add your name and StudentID on the top, right of the header. (1 mark)

13. Insert any Computer image using Clip Art into the top of your document and resize it
so that it does not take up so much space. (1 mark)

14. Apply Correction, “Brightness: 0% (Normal) Contrast: -40%” to the Computer


image.
(1 mark)

15. Change the color of the Computer image to “Orange, Accent color 6 Dark”.
(1 mark)

16. Position the Computer image in the Top Right with Square Text Wrapping.
(2 marks)

17. Save your finished file as “Yourname_studentID.docx” and save it in the folder you
created on the desktop. (1 mark)

18. Exit MS Word.

Part 2 - Microsoft PowerPoint

II. Using MS PowerPoint complete the following tasks: [20 marks]

1. Create a presentation with three blank slides (1 mark)

2. Modify the presentation as follows. (2 marks)

a. Apply Themes Design template (Aspect).


b. Insert a footer to show Your Name and StudentID.
c. Insert Today’s date as a fixed date in the date area.
d. Insert Slide number.

3. On the first slide follow the instruction given below. (4 marks)

a. Type " Computer Use Policy ” as the slide title and its format should be:

 Font Type: Algerian, Color: Red, Size: 40

b. Type “© ADVETI Information Security Policy” as the sub title and its format
should be:

 Font Type: Calibri, Color: Dark Blue, Size: 24


 Insert Computer image from Clip Art to a suitable location.

4. On the second slide follow the instruction given below. (4 marks)

a. In the click to add title type: “Privacy and Personal Rights”.

 Font Type: Calibri, Color: Dark Blue, Size: 36

b. In click to add text type: “All users of the school network and computing

5. On the third slide follow the instruction given below. (5 marks)

b. In click to add text insert the following table below.

folder you created on the desktop. (1 mark)

10. Exit MS PowerPoint.

Part 3- Microsoft Excel

III. Using MS Excel complete the following tasks: [60 marks]

1. Open “STS_G12_T3_EoY” folder which is located on the desktop. You will find “Your
Personal Budget” data file. Open “Your Personal Budget” excel workbook. (1 mark)

2. In cell G5, use a function that will display the current date and time. (2 marks)

3. In cell B7, calculate “Income Total” for “Budget”. (2 marks)

4. In cell B15, calculate “Home Total” for “Budget”. (2 marks)

5. In cell B21, calculate “Daily Living Total” for “Budget”. (2 marks)

6. Calculate Actual Total for cell C7,C15 and C21 (3 marks)

7. In cell B24, calculate “Total Expenses” for Budget. (2 marks)

8. In cell C24, calculate “Total Expenses” for Actual. (2 marks)

9. In cell E6, get the length of a string from cell A6. (2 marks)

10. In cell E13, replace existing text in cell A13 with new text in a string by using the
SUBSTITUTE function. (2 marks)

11. In cell D10, calculate “% of Income”. (4 marks)

 (Hint: % of Income (D10) = Rent (B10)/absolute reference (B7))

 Apply the same formula to the remaining cells in the column (D11,
D12, D13, D14, and D15).

12. Format the numbers in cells D10:D15 to appear in percentage (%) format with 1
decimal place. (2 marks)

13. Rename the sheet 1 to “Budget”. (1 mark)

14. Open Sheet 2 in “Your Personal Budget” workbook. (1 mark)

15. In cell E5, use the VLOOKUP function to find the Standard Bonus of each Aircraft
Engineer Employee Name based on the Years with UAESTSAVIATION. (5 marks)

16. Rename the sheet 2 to “Reward”. (1 mark)

17. Open Sheet 3 in “Your Personal Budget” workbook. (1 mark)

18. Sort in ascending order column A (Last Name), column B (First Name), column C (Job
Title), column D (Hours). (3 marks)

19. On the “Hours” column add conditional formatting making anything greater than 35
to have the background color as Light Red Fill with Dark Red Text. (3 marks)

20. On the “Hours” column add conditional formatting making anything Less than 35 to
have the background color as Green Fill with Dark Green Text. (3 marks)

21. In column C ( Job Title), use the Filter to find “Aircraft Engineer” (2 marks)

22. Rename the sheet 3 to “UAESTSAVIATION”. (1 mark)

23. Open Sheet 4 in “Your Personal Budget” workbook. (1 mark)

24. In cell A4:B9, create a Pie chart with first 2-D for the Annual Sales year 2012
(4 marks)

28. Save your workbook as “<Name >_<StudentID>_Your_Personal_Budget and and save it


in the folder you created on the desktop. (1 mark)

29. Close the workbook.

30. Exit MS Excel.
