3 Updates to supported environments and compatibility

The following sections list updates and changes to the supported platforms, systems, and versions.

Note: Third-party products such as operating systems, databases, browsers,

and other platforms advance on independent schedules. OpenText relies on the
platform vendor to maintain backwards compatibility. If the platform vendor
makes a change that affects compatibility, the platform may not be fully
functional while OpenText makes the appropriate changes. Depending on the
severity of the changes, an update to the latest or next scheduled update of
TeamSite, OpenDeploy, and LiveSite may be required.

3.1 Updates to operating systems

All operating systems must be native 64-bit. Upgrading 32-bit systems to 64-bit will not work. All
software is certified with the operating systems and will not be explicitly certified with any virtualization
software.

directly, or the third-party components themselves, but not the underlying
libraries that are used inside those third-party components.

required critical patches.

4.1 Installation and upgrade notes

Before you install OpenText TeamSite CE 21.4.2, OpenText LiveSite CE 21.4.2, and OpenText
OpenDeploy CE 21.4.2, review these additional installation notes and verify related product or third-
party product requirements. For information about installing OpenText TeamSite and LiveSite, review
the OpenText TeamSite Planning and Installation Guide available with the release. For information
about installing OpenText OpenDeploy, review the OpenText OpenDeploy Installation Guide.

Important:
• You must apply all the latest Windows patches before you start the
Windows install/upgrade process.
• To use the embedded PostgreSQL, any existing PostgreSQL databases
must be uninstalled before you start.

Note:
• Refer to Other third-party compatibility table for JDK versions, and Third-
party Java library updates for updated versions.

4.1.1 Steps to apply the update

This version 21.4.2 can be installed afresh or upgrading an older version. Before you apply the
update, review the “Upgrade” chapter in the OpenText TeamSite Planning and Installation Guide

WCM-53856 Cloud only: Cannot publish (PLC) on google GKE with 21.4.0.0

Background: App server and store server pods share files via the persistent
volume (PV) iwshared served by NFS. With the typical standard NFS mount
options, there is some latency between writing and reading these files, especially if
the pods are scheduled on different Kubernetes nodes. This latency may
cause publications to fail.
Workaround: Set mount options sync and tcp for shared NFS persistent volumes.
This can be done at any time after TeamSite cloud deployment has started once
rsp. the persistent volumes have been provisioned.

OpenText TeamSite CE 21.4.2, OpenText LiveSite CE 21.4.2, and OpenText OpenDeploy CE 21.4.2 Release Notes 21
Issue number Issue description
To set the mount options sync and tcp:
• Get the ID of the persistent volume resource from the iwshared persistent
volume claim in the authoring namespace:
kubectl get pvc -n authoring iwshared
The ID displays in the VOLUME column.
• Open the persistent volume resource for editing:
kubectl edit pv <persistent volume ID>
• In the editor, search for mountOptions property.
If not found, create the mountOptions property as shown in the next step.
• In the editor, add the mount options tcp and sync as follows, if they are not
already in the list. Do not change any other mount option now:
spec:
...
mountOptions:
- tcp
- sync
...
As ever for yaml, pay attention on the indentation.
• Restart app-server and store-server pods
kubectl delete pod -n authoring store-server-0
kubectl delete pod -n authoring app-server-0
And, if you activated failover:
kubectl delete pod -n authoring app-server-1

7 Appendices
7.1 OpenJDK support
• OpenText TeamSite no longer distributes a JDK with new releases, maintenance releases or
patch-sets. You can only upgrade TeamSite/LiveSite/OpenDeploy (TS/LS/OD) or apply a patch-
set. If the newer version of TS/LS/OD requires a Java upgrade, you will need to independently
obtain the appropriate JDK against which that version of TS/LS/OD is certified (see table below).
OpenText will provide scripts that you can run to upgrade Java to the appropriate version.

Note: You can upgrade Java independently at any time only if you are
using a version of Java that is supported by your installed version of
TS/LS/OD.

• To provide maximum stability for our customers, we only certify and support JDK releases that
have been designated as a Long Term Supported (LTS) release. LTS releases are designated
every 3 years.
• We only certify with OpenJDK builds (pre-built or built from source if builds are not available) from
AdoptOpenJDK.net, and Oracle JDK from Oracle.
• Given OpenJDK is open source, anyone (individuals, customer organizations, or vendors) can
make changes to the OpenJDK, and those changes can impact our product functionality or
performance. Therefore, with each release OpenText TeamSite certifies and supports a specific
version and build of OpenJDK from AdoptOpenJDK.net and Oracle JDK from Oracle. You are free
to run the same OpenJDK version using a build from any of the other vendors (or even built by
yourself). However, any problems encountered and reported to OpenText must be reproducible
with one of the documented certified builds (from AdoptOpenJDK.net or Oracle) for that product
version.

Note: Refer to the Other third-party product compatibility section of this

document for details.

• LiveSite (LSCS/LSDS) is certified with the JDK that comes with supported application servers.
For example, IBM WebSphere and Oracle WebLogic both ship and support a JDK to be used with
their respective application servers. If no JDK is delivered with the application servers (as in the
case of Tomcat) you must use the JDK from Oracle or AdoptOpenJDK.net.

Note: Refer to the OpenText TeamSite Planning and Installation Guide

for details.
