PRACTICAL NO 5

Aim: To represent data graphically in Excel.


GRAPHICAL REPRESENTATION
(1) SIMPLE BAR CHART
Illustrate the comprehensive range of airlines available through a bar chart, highlighting
the various airlines availed by customers for their travel in the month of March.

Select entire table and go to INSERT


Select recommended Clustered Column Chart and select OK
Click on the chart and to the right you will see 3 options

• Chart Elements
• Chart Style
• Chart Filters
Go to chart elements and select Axes, Axis Titles, Chart Titles, Gridlines, Data
labels, Legend. Choose a suitable Chart Style and Color you want.
(2) Multiple Bar Chart
Construct a multiple bar chart that visually presents the annual production quantities of
different areas for a specific product, allowing us to compare production trends over the
years

Select recommended chart Clustered Column Chart and select OK.
Click on the chart and to the right you will see 3 options

Gridlines, trend lines (it should be based on production),Legend. Choose a suitable
Chart Style and Color you want.

(3) Component Bar Chart


Design a component bar chart showcasing the literacy rates of males and females across
various Cities of India, enabling a clear comparison of gender-based literacy disparities
within each Cities.

Select recommended chart Stacked Column chart and select OK
Click on the chart and to the right you will see 3 options

Go to chart elements and select Axes, Axis Titles, Chart Titles, Data Labels
Gridlines, Legend. Choose a suitable Chart Style and Color you want.

After that Right click on the chart and go to SELECT DATA and deselect BOTH GENDERS.

(4) Rectangular Component Bar Chart


Design a rectangular component bar chart that delineates the various items of expenditure
undertaken by a trust, while also illustrating the corresponding expenses for each item as
percentages, allowing for a clear visualization of the allocation of funds.
