1.Computer network; is the collection of interconnected of two or more computer in order for sharing
resource and information. These devices can be linked through wire connection like Ethernet cables or
like Wi-Fi. Network can vary in size and complexity, ranging from a small home network to large-scale
enterprise network or even the global internet.
Resource sharing. These is among the advantage of computer network which used to allow
multiple users to share resources example printers, files, and software internet connection, also reduce
cost and improving efficiency.
Centralized data management. Computer networks allow for centralized data storage, making it
easier to backup and manage data. This can provide increased security and reduce the risk of data loss.
Cost saving. By sharing resources and centralizing management, reduce the need for each user to
have their own individual resources, can help loading to cost saving for organizations through the
computer networks.
By cultivating the advantages of computer network can you help to provide increased
efficiency, flexibility, and collaboration for individuals and organizations.
A computer network; Is the interconnection of two or more computer in order for sharing
resources and information. The following disadvantages of computer network which are,
Security risk; A computer network can be vulnerable to security breaches, example hacking,
malware, and data theft. Without proper security measures in place, sensitive information could be
compromise
Compatibility issues; A computer network can be provided the different devices and systems
may not always be compatible with each other, leading to compatibility issues and difficulty in sharing
resources and data across the network.
maintenance and costs; This provided setting up and maintaining a computer network can be
complex and expensive. Organization needed to invest in hardware, software, and IT resources to
ensure smooth operation and security.
Dependence on technology; The organization that rely heavily on computer networks may
face disruptions in their operation If there are network failures or technical issues. This dependency can
pose a risk to business continuity.
Network congestion; As more connect device to a network, it can become congested, leading
to slow performance and delays in data transmission. This can impact productivity and efficiency.
Overall; While a computer network offered to many advantages, they also come with
potential disadvantages that need to be carefully managed and mitigated to ensure a secure and
efficiency network environmental.
4.Network; are system of interconnected devices, nodded, or system that enable communication,
resource sharing, and data exchange.
1.Personal Area Network [ PAN]; A network designed for personal devices within a small range,
typically a few meters.
Examples;
Using a smartwatch paired with a phone. Sharing files between two laptops via a personal hotspot.
2.Local Area Network [LAN]; A network confined to a small geographical area, such as a home, office, or
building. Examples
A home network connecting PCs, printers and smarty TVs via a router.
3.Wireless Local Area Network [WLAN]; A type of LAN that uses wireless communication, typically via
Wi-Fi, for connectivity. Examples;
4.Global Area Networks [GAN]; A network that connects different WANs and operates globally.
Examples;
5.Enterprise Private Network [EPN]; A network specifically designed for use by an organization to
securely connect its location. Example
6 1. IP Address; A unique numerical label assigned to devices connected to the internet, like
192.168.1.1.it identifies a device and its location.
2. Domain Name System; It translated human readable domain name. Example www.google .com into
IP address that computer uses to identity websites.
3. Uniform Resource locator; The computer web address used to access a specific webpage, example
htts;/www .com.
4. HTTP/HTTPS. [Hypertext Transfer Protocol]; The foundation of data communication for the web.
HTTPS; A secure version of HTTP that encrypts data between the browser and server.
5. Firewall; A security system that monitors and control incoming outgoing network traffic to block
unauthorized access.
