Assignment Title: Create Your Introductory Motion Graphics


Objective: Design three brief motion graphics pieces that introduce yourself
by incorporating your name or innitials and illustrating three attributes of
your personality. Use typography, color, and design to convey these
characteristics and integrate principles of animation to enhance each
animation.

Assignment Details:
1. Duration: Each motion graphics piece should be approximately 10
seconds long.
2. Content:
o For each piece, prominently display TEXT.
o Highlight one attribute of your personality in each piece. These
could be traits like creativity, enthusiasm, determination, etc.
o For each attribute, consider:
 A specific visual representation (icon, shape, or graphic)
 Corresponding typography that matches the attribute (e.g.,
bold for confidence, playful for creativity)
 A color palette that reflects the personality traits (e.g.,
warm colors for friendliness, cool colors for calmness)
3. Animation Principles:
o Incorporate at least three principles of motion design (such
as easing in and out, squash and stretch, anticipation, or motion
paths) in each piece to effectively convey your attribute. For
example:
 Use easing to create smooth transitions between elements.
 Apply squash and stretch to animate text that reflects
excitement.
4. Software:
o Use Adobe After Effects, to create your animation.
o Create the layers in Adobe illustrator
5. Export:
o Export your projects as an mp4 file.

Submission Guidelines:
 Submit your three motion graphics pieces in 2 weeks
 Include a brief written reflection (150-200 words) explaining your
choice of attributes, color palettes, typography, and animation
principles for each piece.

Evaluation Criteria:
 Creativity and Originality (30%): Innovative use of typography,
color, and design elements in each piece.
 Execution of Motion Design Principles (30%): Effective integration
of Motion Design principles to convey personality attributes in each
segment.
 Clarity of Message (20%): How well each final piece communicates
your name and the respective personality trait.
 Quality of Production (20%): Technical quality of the motion
graphics, including smoothness of animation and overall finish.
