Hi, Good morning. This is chaitanya and I have 10+ years of professional SAP SD/OTC Functional Consultant
experience, 3+ years of SAP AATP consultant. My career, I worked as core team member and handled 6
projects, in this as involved in 4 implementation and 2 supports of various industries- Manufacturing,
petroleum and Pharmaceuticals.
Coming to AATP experience - Availability checks configurations such as Available to Promise and product
allocation that are present in OTC process. experience in AATP (Available to promise), and product allocation
– how the allocations will be maintained in planning data and allocation sequence- forward and backward
consumption, BOP – dynamic rules and bucket straties, ABC - Alternative base calculations -ABC to
substitute the product from one plant to another plant following building rules in Fiori Apps.
Worked on bucket strategies – WIN, GAIN, FILL, REDISTRIBUTE, LOSE and simulations to confirm the order
and perform job through background in Schedule BOP and monitoring on Monitor BOP App.
Worked on end-to-end implementation - blue print, configuration development, testing, go live and hyper
care support in SAP.
Experienced and having good Knowledge in key integration of FI, MM and PP modules.
Worked on OTC business processes such as: Third Party, Inter Company Sales, STO, Rush order and MTO
Process.
Experience in RICEF - writing Function Specification document, enhancement, Z reports and Interfaces.
Worked on ESR and IDE through create an Interfaces by using SAP and Non -SAP adapters - ABAP Proxy, Idoc
and file and SOAP and Error handling is done through the transactions SXMB_MONI, SMQ1, SMQ2, IDX5 and
using the Runtime.

Vanguard:
Vanguard manufacturing industry and it procures different grades of steel, Silicon gaskets, hose, custom rubber. They
have many customers throughout the world. These products are used medical equipment’s – covid -19 test kits, RNA,
DNA Medical equipment’s, automobile industry- car doors, HVAC Equipment’s.
I worked as AATP consultant in this project. We have successfully implemented 2022 version. Recently they launched
– Silicon gaskets, it was a huge demand on market for this Apex system newly launched. Customer come and place an
order directly. We have successfully configured Product allocation and ABC strategies.
My day-to-day activities:
We implemented aATP last month and I am part of the implementation team and am co-ordinating with
implementation and support teams to stabilize the solution. BOP run time should be reduced as per business. We
implemented a couple of OSS notes that SAP provided and are closely monitoring the BOP run. -
Requirement gathering:
2. What are the key metrics. how much time business expects an order acknowledgment to happen from the
time of order creation
(ii) whats an expectable time limit for huge sales orders (1000-line items etc.)- 4 mins
A: BOP 3-4 hours per day.
3. what are the various order types in use currently.
A: order types – Rush, stock, intercompany
4. what is the order priority for each of these order types.
A: Rush orders, stock, feature dated order types.
5. what’s the checking horizon to be considered for the sales order to be allocated?
A: Checking horizon 60 days
Checking horizon is used to determine the time duration upto which stock availability should be
checked for order fulfilment.

Creation of supply-pre req based on sales orders – sales order says availability check not there, we don’t have to
wait for MRP, it can generate Purchase requisition or it can directly generate planned order from GATP itself.
Availability check is based on material availability date. If the MAD is met then the system follows “backward
scheduling” if not is met then the system follows “backward scheduling”
During the creation of sales order, a line item in the sales order creates schedule line. this schedule line represents
the customer’s requested delivery date and quantity to be delivered. Thus, information is transferred (TOR) to MRP.
MRP then be able to determine the quantity based on the stock availability for the scheduled delivery date. The TOR
is closely integrated with MM & PP.
That’s why the configuration of MRP should be done by respective teams.
Note: To carryout availability check, the TR & availability check indicators must be checked at schedule line category
level and requirement class level.
Checking rule: - it is a control of availability check. It is assigned to MRP3 view of MMR.
01- Individual requirements – Individual transference of MRP of demand to MRP for each schedule line.
02- Collective Requirements – Collecting the requirements either daily or weekly basis and transferring them to
MRP.
Requirement class: It is used for requirements strategy planning and requirements consumption planning.
Requirement class is the control factor of TOR and availability check. Requirement class is assigned to
requirement type.
How requirement type flows into SO?
1. First the system checks strategy group in material master MRP3 View.
2. If the strategy group is not found then the system checks the MRP group (MRP1 View)
3. If the MRP group is not maintained then the system uses the material type.
4. If the above 3 options are not met then system uses” schedule line category = item category+ MRP Type.
5. If the system does not in schedule line category then it makes last attempt to determine requirements type
using “item category – requirement type assignment.
6. If the last attempt also fails then system declares that the particular transaction is not relevant for
“availability check “or TOR.
1. If we maintain MRP type as “ND” – No planning in material master – MRP 1 view, means that material is not
relevant for procurement and requirement type is determined by item category + MRP type = 011- Req Type
ie., TAN+ ND -011
2. If we maintain MRP type as “PD” –MRP in material master – MRP 1 view, means that material is relevant for
procurement and requirement type is determined by item category + MRP type = 041- Req Type
