Marketing Guideline of miniSD™ Mark

February 13th, 2003

The purpose of this guideline

This guideline is designed to distinguish the regular size SD Memory Card


and its application products from the small size SD Memory Card and its
application products. The reason behind it is to avoid any possible
confusion in the market place.

Correct use of the SD logo and the miniSDTM mark:

Product Name
Any of the following are acceptable product names of the small size SD memory card.

•miniSD™ Memory Card


•miniSD™ Card
•miniSD™
Note:
-“mini” should be always lower case letters and “SD” should be always capital letters.
-There should be no space between “mini” and “SD”.
- “Memory Card” and “Memory” can be either capital and/or small letters.
-Use the same font size for all letters in miniSD™ and Memory Card/Card.
-To start a sentence beginning with miniSDTM , use an article beforehand, i.e., The miniSDTM card,
A miniSDTM ...
-To pluralize miniSDTM , use either Memory Cards or Cards after miniSDTM , i.e. miniSDTM Cards.
-“ TM” symbol for the product name “miniSD” is optional.

- Do not create multiple - Do not change the order -Do not use small letters -No space between “mini” - Do not use hyphen

Color
Recommended basic color is PANTON Blue 072C (dark blue).
Other blue, black and white colors can be used as below.

miniSD™ mark MUST always have a minimum space clearance, equal to one third of the miniSD™ mark.

Part 1 Use of the miniSD™ mark in box form
General rule
Basic color of dark blue is recommended for the box version of the logo. Use white color for miniSD™ mark
is recommended. Remember to use the required clear spacing zone rule of one third of the logo height.

The miniSD™ mark should be clearly visible against the background of the box.

General rule
Any size of miniSD™ mark is acceptable so long as the miniSD™ mark is legible and adheres to logo rules.

The minimum size of 16 mm wide is recommended. If miniSDTM mark is too small to be


displayed on the screen of the mobile
device, the following exception is
allowed.

smaller than 20 mm width.

- Use the miniSD™ mark instead of the SD logo, fulfilling CLA (Card License Agreement) requirement.
- Product name is optional.

- Use of the miniSD™ mark together with the name “miniSD™ Adapter” or “Adapter” on the same side
is recommended.
- Either capital letters and/or small letters

Part 2 Packaging for miniSD™ card with Adapter
General rule
- Use same rule as the packaging for miniSD™ Memory Card (Page 13) and
the marking of miniSD™ Adapter (Page 14).
- The product name of “miniSD™ Adapter” or “Adapter” may be omitted.
- Indication of “With Adapter” may be used in addition to the product
name of the miniSD™ Memory Card.

- “miniSD™ Memory Card”, “miniSD™ Card” or “miniSD™”
may be used when “SD Memory Card”, “SD Card” or “SD” is
