How To Create A3 Drawing Limits in Autocad (in

millimeters)
1. Setting up a Drawing

Step 1: Start a New Drawing

 Open AutoCAD and start a new drawing by selecting "New" from


the File menu.

 Choose a template that suits your needs, such as "acad.dwt" for a


basic drawing template.

Step 2: Set Units

 Set the units for your drawing to match the scale and precision
required for your A3 Drawing.
o Command: UNITS → Set the desired unit type – Decimal
Precision: 0

Step 3: Set Up Drawing Limits

 Define the drawing limits to set the working area for your plan.

o Command: LIMITS → Specify the lower-left corner : 0,0

→ Specify the upper-right corner:


42000, 29700.

o Command: SAVE → Choose a location and file name for your


drawing.

Step 4: Setting the Drafting Limits of the Grid

 Type DSETTINGS in
Command Bar and press Enter.

 Check Snap On & Grid on

Snap x spacing: 100

Snap Y spacing: 100


 Check Equal x and y spacing

 Grid x spacing : 100

 Grid y spacing: 100

 Major Line every: 10

 Snap type: Rectangular snap

 Check box Adaptive grid under Grid Behavior

Command: SAVE → Choose a location


and file name for your drawing.
