AI Ready (Pages 15)
A. Short answer type questions. 1. What is AI? Ans. AI is the ability of machines to perform tasks that typically require human-like intelligence. 2. What is data? Ans. Data refers to raw facts, figures, statistics, or information that can be in the form of numbers, text, images, audio, or any other representation. Data is typically unorganised and lacks meaning until it is processed or analysed. 3. Define Big Data. Ans. Big Data refers to the storage and processing of massive sets of data. 4. Name any two applications based on NLP. Ans. Chatbots and virtual assistants, and sentiment analysis 5. What is Data Science? Ans. Data science is a field that uses mathematics and computer science to draw knowledge from data. It is a critical part of AI as AI algorithms rely on large amount of data to learn and improve their performance. B. Long answer type questions. 1. Define Computer Vision. Also, write two applications of it. Ans. Computer Vision helps computers to interpret visual information from the world around them. The following are the applications of Computer vision: • Self-driving cars • Facial recognition software • Image and video analysis 2. Define NLP. Describe any two applications of NLP. Ans. NLP enables computers to understand and generate human language. The goal of NLP is to take a verbal or written input, process it, and understand it. The following are common applications of NLP: • Email filters or spam filters • Virtual assistants and chatbots 3. List any four applications of AI. Ans. The following are the applications of AI: • Search engines (like Google and Bing) use AI to display results for your search in seconds, auto- correct your sentences, and show personalised advertisements. • Pocket assistants (like Siri and Google Assistant) use AI to answer queries and carry out tasks, like playing music. • Recommendation systems are used by e-commerce retailers like Amazon, to track our preferences and suggest what to buy. OTT platforms like Netflix suggest content based on our viewing history. • Language translators (like Google Translate) not only translate text and speech from one language to another, but can identify and read text from an image and translate it. 4. AI domains are interrelated. Describe the statement. Ans. AI domains are interrelated to each other because they work together in AI applications. For example, an AI system can see things in an image using Computer Vision. With the help of data, it can figure out and put things in the image into groups, like characters or objects. Then, another domain of AI called Natural Language Processing can understand the image and say what is in it.
