Q1. Solve for x and y: 99x + 101y = 499

101x + 99y = 501

Q2. Solve for x and y: 32x + 33y = 34

33x + 32y = 31

Q3. Find the value(s) of k so that the pair of equation x +2y =5 and 3x +ky +15=0 has a unique
solution.
Q4. Find k if the system of equations kx +3y + (3-k) = 0 ; 12x + ky – k = 0 has infinitely many
solutions.
Q5. Given a linear equation 3x – 5y = 1 form another linear equation in these variables such
that the geometric representation of pair so formed is:
(i) intersecting lines (ii) coincident lines (iii) parallel lines
Q6. Solve the following pair of linear equations graphically.
x+ 3y = 6 ; 2x – 3y =12 , Also find the area of triangle formed by the lines representing the
given equations with y- axis.
Q7. Solve the equation graphically:
2x + y =2 ; 2y – x =4
What is the area of triangle formed by the two lines and the line y= 0 ?
Q8. Determine graphically the coordinates of the vertices of a triangle, the equation of whose
sides are given by 2y – x =8 , 5y – x = 14 and y – 2x = 1.
Q9. Find the four angles of cyclic quadrilateral ABCD in which ∠A = (2x -1)0 , ∠B =(y + 5)0 , ∠C =
(2y +15)0 and ∠D = (4x -7)0.
Q10. The income of X and Y are in the ration 8:7 and their expenditure are in the ratio 19:16. If
each save Rs.1250, find their income and expenditure.
