Principal welcomed the members of the Anti-Ragging Committee

1. Constitution of Anti-Ragging committee headed by Head of the institution and Consisting of

representative of civil and public administrations, NGOs, Faculty, Parents, Students, and non-
teaching staff.

2. Anti-Ragging squads to maintain vigil, oversight and patrolling functions. The Squads have to
make surprise visits on hotels, and other places vulnerable for ragging activities. Reports on the
visits have to be made by the members of the squad.

Conclusion:

The meeting concluded at 12.45 p.m by giving assurance that “our campus will be a Ragging free
Campus”

ACTION TAKEN REPORT

* The Anti- Ragging committee was constituted by the chairman of 'committee and first meeting was
conducted on 04.08.2024 at Principals' cabin, to review and strengthen the measures to curb the
menace of ragging in the college for the session 2024-2025

o Anti-ragging committee members : Given in Annexure –I

* The Anti - Ragging Squad is formed. The Squad in full or parts may be called upon to make
surprise raids on hostels & other hot spots like College bus stop and will be empowered to inspect
places of potential ragging. The Squad will work under the overall guidance of anti ragging
committee.

o Anti-ragging committee members : Given in Annexure - II

1. Ragging is totally prohibited in the campus. lf any student is found : indulging in ragging,
severe action will be taken against the student.
2. Based on the “Honble Supreme Court of lndia”, Direction, the UGC has issued Regulations
 and Guide lines. Some of the guidelines are as under.
3. The UGC Regulations on "What Constitutes Ragging" is given in Annexure -III ,
4. The UGC Guidelines on the award of punishment to those found guilty are also given in the
Annexure- IV.
5. The objectives and responsibilities of the committee members were formulated.

Objectives:

 To prohibit, prevent and eliminate the scourge of ragging including any conduct by any
student whether by words spoken or written or by an act which has the effect of teasing,
treating or handling with rudeness a fresher or any other student, or indulging in rowdy or
undisciplined activities by any student.
 To monitor, direct and oversee the functions and performance of the AntiRagging Squads
in prevention and curbing of ragging in the institution
Responsibilities:

1. To be vigilant at all hours all around the campus and other places vulnerable to incidents
of, and having the potential of, ragging and shall be empowered to inspect such places.
2. To make surprise raids on hostels, and other places vulnerable to incidents and having the
potential for ragging.
3. To conduct an on-the-spot enquiry into any incident of ragging referred to it by the
faculty or student or parent or guardian, as the case may be: and the enquiry report along
with recommendations shall be submitted to the Head of the institutions for action.
4. To ensure the Display of posters on Institution and Department Notice Boards and other
prominent designated places.
5. To offer services of counseling and create awareness to the students.
6. CCTV cameras are mounted in various places of the college to effectively monitor the
students indulging in ragging.
7. As per the guidelines the college should obtain undertaking from the students as well as
from the parents that the students will not indulge in any form of ragging. Format of the
undertaking is attached in Annexure v & VI.
 Hence these are the steps that we have taken to quell this horrible menace name RAGGING
with an intention to make this campus – a ragging free campus
