28. A takes 6 days less than the time taken by B to finish a piece of work. If both A and B together can finish the
same work in 4 days, find the time taken by B alone to finish the work. (Ans- 12 days)
29. A student has Rs 360 to spend for an out-station school excursion. Due to bad weather, the school excursion got
extended by 4 days. To manage his expenses in the same amount he cut down his daily expenses by Rs 3. Find the
original number of days for the school excursion was planned. (Ans- 20 days)
30. An aeroplane left 15 minutes later than its scheduled time . If the speed of the aeroplane is increased by
100 km/hr than its usual speed then the journey of 1400 km is completed at the right time. Find the usual
speed of the aeroplane.

31. Two pipes running together can fill a tank in 313 minutes . If one pipe takes 3 minutes more than the other
to fill the tank, find the time in which each pipe would fill the tank.
32. A man can row his boat at a speed of 4 km/ hr in still water . If it takes two hour more to row the boat 6
km upstream , find the speed of the stream.
33. In the centre of a rectangular lawn of dimensions 50mx40m, a rectangular pond has to be constructed so
that the area of the grass border of uniform width surrounding the pond would be 1184m2. Find the length
and breadth of the pond.
34. A 2 digit number is such that the product of it’s digits is 14. When 45 is added to the number, the digits
are reversed. Find the number.
35. At present, Asha’s age is 2 years more than the square of her daughter’s age. When the daughter grow’s to
her mother’s present age, Asha’s age would be 1 year less than 10 times the present age of her daughter.
Find the present ages of Asha and her daughter.
