Q No 01; what is Computer internal and external
hardware?

Internal Hardware of Computer:


Internal hardware of a computer is a hardware required to run a
computer properly.
Types of internal hardware are listed below:
i) Central Processing Unit:
A central processing unit is the basic internal hardware of
computer that executes the every data given to computer.
CPU performs logic, controls, arithmetic , input and output
operations.

Ii) Video Card:


A video card is also known as graphic card.
A graphic card is an important part of computer
that authorizes the data in a visual form on the monitor.

iii)Memory:
Memories are the chips in computer to store data in it.
There are two types of memory in computer,
Volatile memory is the computer storage that temporarily stores
the data being used in CPU.
The examples volatile memory are RAM and S RAM .
Non volatile memory stores the data permenantly. The examples
of non volatile memory are ROM, and Secondary storage devices.
Iv) Motherboard:
Motherboards is the largest circuit board in a computer. It
distributes electricity and allow communication between Central
Processing Unit, RAM and other components of computer.

v) Power Supply Unit:


Power supply unit converts alternating current to direct current for
the usage of internal components of a computer.
External Hardware of Computer:
 Those hardware that are connected to externally to the
computer are called external hardware components.
 Types of external computer hardware are listed below:
i) Monitor:
Monitor is an external hardware. It is a device which is
used to display the processed data in visual form that is
processed by the processor. The processed data can be in

form of image , text , and video.


ii) Keyboard:
Keyboard have a set of printed characters on them.
Different keys hold different character. We can produce a symbol
by pressing the one key and some symbol can be produced by
pressing a combination of set of keys mutually.

iii) Mouse:
Mouse is used to give instruction to the computer by a cursor.
The left click of mouse is used to select the items on computer
screen while the right click of mouse is used to show the tab
menu of selected item.

iv) Printer and Scanner:


Printer is a hardware that is used to print the document and
images onto paper.
Scanner is a device that allow the user to convert the physical
images into digital formats and can be stored in computer.

Q No 02: System and Application software
System software:
System Software is a type of computer software that is required to
run a computer’s hardware properly. System Software is the first
interface between user and computer.
The Windows Operating system is a system software.
There are five types of system software.

i) Operating system:
Operating system is the basic system software the manages all
the input and output of a computer. It controls all input and
output devices , it gives access the Pc to network and prevent
errors .

ii) Language translator:


Language translator are used converts high level
language in to machine language. There are two types of
language translator,
Compiler and interpreter:
Compiler converts data as whole, but interpreter converts each
line individually.

iii) Device Drivers:


Device driver is the software that makes the
connection between attached hardware and system to reduce
troubleshooting in system.
Few devices drivers are preinstalled with operating system and
other devices drivers are on user desire.
iv) Firmware Software:
firmware software are installed on the computer’s
motherboards. It manages and controls all activities of an
individual devices. BIOS is a firmware software.

v) Utility Software:
It is a third party software that reduce the maintenance
issues and detect errors in a system.
It helps user to protect against viruses.
It helps to reduce disk size such as WinRAR , WinZip.
It helps to recover the lost data.

Application Software:
Application software is a software that performs a specific task for
user desire .Every application software has specific work .There
are many application software.
 It provides entertainment to user.
 It makes the easy to do a specific task.
 It enhance work efficiency
 It increase productivity.
 For example Video players ,Word processing software ,
Web browser, Ms Excel etc
