For Group One

1) During ancient times who governed the social order of the group?

For Group Two

1) Do you think there are differences and similarities between community-oriented


policing and problem-oriented policing? Clarify your answer.
2) How do you explain the practicality or applicability of community-oriented
policing and problem-oriented policing?
3) An English man, Sir Robert Peel, set forth 12-point guidelines to effectively
organize the police. Based on these Peelian Reforms, evaluate, point-by-point, the
today’s police in Ethiopia and give accounts on the importance of the guidelines.
4) The modern police in USA have passed through four evolutionary stages: the
political influence stage, the reform stage, the professional stage, and the
community relation stage. Compare the evolution of policing in Ethiopia in line
with the USA experience and then put the today’s Ethiopian police to one of the
stage you think equivalent to and give detail justification of your judgment.
