COURSE SYNOPSIS

Introduction to instrumentation and measurements; basic principles of instruments and measurements, process measurements and
control; Introduction to process control; Introduction to feedback control: the dynamic behaviour of feedback controlled processes;
Introduction to Feed-forward control: the dynamic behaviour of the feed-forward controlled processes; Cascade control systems;
Introduction to process systems dynamics.
Aims and Objectives of the Course: After successful completion of the course, the students should be able to:

 name different types of measuring instruments and control processes used in chemical industrial processes

 differentiate characteristics of measurement instruments and control systems of chemical industrial processes

 explain the fundamental principles of process controls operations in various manufacturing and chemical processes

 select the proper measuring instruments and automatic controls for chemical process industries

 evaluate and design appropriate measuring devices and control systems for control of chemical industrial processes
