Essay:

The line chart shows the number of foreign visitors to three different areas in a
European country between the year 1987 and 2007.
The number of visitors to the coast or lakes had a high increasement after 20
years from the year 1987, while the factor for the mountains dramatically grew
then dropped down.
From the year 1987 to 1992, the number of people visited the coast slightly
decreased to about 35 thousands people then witnessed a dramatic rise to
approximately 75 thousands. Meanwhile, more overseas people visited
mountains until the time between the year 1997 and 2002, the number of
mountain visitors stayed the same at 30 thousands people. Then, the next 5 years
saw a slight inflate to 35 thousands.
The number of foreign people visiting the lakes reached the peak at estimately 75
thousands in 2002. However, the factor for it gradually decreased by 25
thousands people in the next five year.
Sample essay:
The given line chart illustrates the number of foreign visitors who went to the
coast, the mountains, and the lakes of a European country from 1987 to 2007.
It can be seen that all three destinations had an increased number of visitors over
the period shown. Overall, the coast and the mountains witnessed a more
significant growth in total arrivals than the lakes.
In 1987, there were 40 thousand people who went to the coast while the number
of overseas visitors to the mountains was half. The figure for the lakes is just
about 10 million. Over the next 10 years, the number of tourists who went to the
lakes experienced a dramatic increase to 40 million people, compared to just 30
million visitors who went to the mountains in 1997.
The number of people who went to the lakes remained stable from 1997 to 2002,
then slightly went up to around 35 million in 2007. Meanwhile, the number of
mountain arrivals kept an upward trend, reaching the peak at about 75 million
visitors in 2002 before dropping to 50 million in 2007. For the number of foreign
tourists who went to the coast, it increased to over 70 million in 2007 after a
slight decrease in 1992. (208 words)
