INTERVIEW

Interviewee: Entrevistado

Good morning, I’m Luna Hernández and I’m here for my interview.

Hi Luna, it’s been a pleasure to meet you, thanks for coming in today. I’m Paula Drudis and I’m
your interviewer.

Please, take a seat. What position are you interviewing for today?

I’m actually interesting for your nursery caregiver position.

Very good, and why have you applied for this job?

Well, I’m looking for a job that was related with children because I really like them and I love
spend time and look after them, I was also looking for a job that had flexible hours.
Additionally, I wanted a different and fun job, where I could be creative and engage with kids in
meaningful ways. So, this position seems to fit my needs perfectly.

Great, that’s very exciting. What experience do you have working with children?

This summer, I worked as an organizer and teacher in various workshops with children aged 2
to 7 years, which allowed me to gain valuable experience regarding the importance of patience
and creativity. I have also worked a few hours caring for children when their parents were
unavailable and I do a lot of crafts in my free time.

Interesting, what relevant qualifications do you have?

I’ve got a basic qualification in childcare assistant.

Okay, and What are your personal strengths and relevant skills?

One of my personal strengths is my adaptability. I can adjust my approach to meet the needs of
different children and situations, which is essential in a childcare environment. Additionally, I
have strong communication skills, allowing me to build trust with both children and parents.

In terms of relevant skills, I have experience making fun and educational activities that help
children learn and grow. I like to think I am quite organized, which helps me manage many
tasks. I also have training in first aid and CPR, which adds extra safety. I’m passionate about
learning methods and I have been reading about them.

It can be useful, and tell me what are your weaknesses?

One of my weaknesses is that I sometimes have problems letting others help me. I like to do
things myself to make sure they are done right. I’m working on this by trying to trust my
teammates more.

Another weakness is that I get nervous when speaking in front of a lot of people. I can speak
well in small groups, but big groups make me nervous.

Well, What qualities do you look for in a coworker?

I look for someone who can work in teams and can collaborate effectively, and also if they can
work by themselves and initiative to work and propose new ideas.
Another question, with what adjectives would you describe yourself?

I consider myself to be ambitious, hard-working and reliable because if you need something
you can trust on me and I always try to improve myself.

One more question, what do you think it takes to be a good employee?

A good employee shows up to work on time, contributes as a team member, knows their job
well, asks questions if they don't understand something, communicates effectively and
demonstrates a positive attitude.

Very good, do you have any questions about the job?

Well, when can I expect to hear back about the decision?

We expect to make a decision in about two weeks. We will contact you as soon as we have any
updates. Something else?

Only one more, could you tell me about the salary for this position?

The salary would be $1,900 per month, and you would have one and a half months of vacation
per year.

Okay, thank you for giving me the opportunity to have this interview. It’s been a pleasure to
meet you.

Thank you, I enjoyed interviewing you. We will call you as soon as we have news. Have a great
day!
