SAN JUAN ELEMENTARY SCHOOL

ENGLISH & NATIONAL READING MONTH CELEBRATION

Masters of Ceremony: Kuli Martinez & Cardo Dalisay

Kuli:
Good day, San Juan Elementary! Who’s ready for a fun-filled day of stories,
characters, and… well, more stories? Raise your hand if you’re excited! pauses Oh,
look at that sea of hands! I’m Kuli Martinez, and I’ll be your energetic host today!
Cardo:
And I’m Cardo Dalisay, your even more energetic co-host! You know, Kuli, they say
reading can take you anywhere, and from the looks of the costumes today, I think
some of us have already been to Narnia, Hogwarts, and maybe even Mars!
Kuli:
That’s right! So let’s not waste any more time—let’s dive into today’s fun! First up is
our Book Character Parade, featuring students from Kinder to Grade 6. Get ready
to meet some of your favorite characters—and some you didn’t know you needed in
your life!

PART I: BOOK CHARACTER PARADE

(SJES Drum and Lyre plays)
Cardo:
Leading our parade are the little ones from Kinder to Grade 3. Look at those tiny
Harry Potters, adorable Little Red Riding Hoods, and—hold on, Kuli—is that a super
tiny Captain America?
Kuli:
I see him! He’s ready to save the world—right after nap time, of course! And now, we
have our Grade 4 to 6 students, showing off their amazing costumes. Oh wow,
we’ve got some serious creativity here!
Cardo:
Absolutely! I mean, where else can you see Elsa from Frozen walking alongside
Sherlock Holmes? What a combo! Give them all a big round of applause, everyone!

PART II: OPENING PROGRAM

Kuli:
Now that we’re all inspired by those fantastic costumes, it’s time to officially start our
program. Please rise for the National Anthem, led by our wonderful Grade 2
teacher, Mam Lina Mariano.
(National Anthem plays)
Cardo:
Thank you, Mam Lina. Now, let’s all remain standing for the Opening Prayer, to be
led by Mam Dan Limao.
(Prayer is led)
Kuli:
Thank you, Mam Dan. And to keep the spirit of patriotism alive, let’s join Mam Jane
Libo as she leads us in some beautiful Nationalistic Songs.
(Nationalistic Songs are performed)
Cardo:
Wow, that was powerful! I feel extra proud to be here today! Now, to officially
welcome us, let’s hear from our school principal, the brilliant Dr. Elena Malmano,
Ed. D, for the Welcome Remarks.
(Dr. Malmano gives remarks)
Kuli:
Thank you, Dr. Malmano! Up next, the reason we’re all here—our Statement of
Purpose—to be delivered by none other than our English Coordinator, Ms. Shane
Liyo!
(Shane delivers Statement of Purpose)
Cardo:
Thank you, Ms. Shane! And now, we’re in for a treat. To inspire us with words of
wisdom, let’s welcome the man who knows how to lead with heart and humor—our
very own Hon. Mario Lucad, SK Chairman, for our Inspirational Message.
(Hon. Lucad gives message)
Kuli:
Wow, I’m feeling inspired already! Time to read every book ever written! Or… maybe
start with just one today. (Laughs)
Cardo:
Start small, Kuli! Remember, even the longest book begins with a single page!
(Audience chuckles)

PART III: AWARDING CEREMONY

(English & National Reading Month Contests)
Kuli:
Now it’s time to honor our Kindergarten reading champions! Let’s give a big round
of applause to these little bookworms as they come up to receive their awards.
(Kindergarten winners are awarded)
Cardo:
And while we’re on the subject of adorable, get ready for an Intermission Number
by our Kinder Pupils!
(Kinder Pupils perform)
Kuli:
That was the cutest thing I’ve ever seen! But the fun doesn’t stop there—now, it’s
time to award our Grade 1, 2, and 3 reading stars! Come on up, little readers!
(Grades 1, 2, 3 winners are awarded)
Cardo:
But wait, there’s more! Here to entertain us is the talented Dance Club Pupils! Let’s
give them a round of applause as they hit the stage!
(Dance Club performs)
Kuli:
Amazing performance, Dance Club! And now, the moment our Grade 4, 5, and 6
participants have been waiting for—time to receive your awards!
(Grade 4, 5, 6 winners are awarded)
Cardo:
To celebrate these awesome students, let’s welcome the voices of angels—the
ZSJES Choir Pupils—for another delightful Intermission Number!
(Choir performs)

PART IV: CLOSING

Kuli:
As we wrap up this amazing day, we’re not done just yet! We have a challenge to
issue, and who better to do that than our English Coordinator, Ms. Shane Liyo, who
will deliver the Challenge and Closing Remarks.
(Shane gives closing remarks)
Cardo:
And to accept this challenge on behalf of our student body, let’s welcome Danaya
Milan, from Grade 6. Let’s give her a big hand!
(Danaya gives speech)
Kuli:
Now, what better way to end this wonderful day than with a song? Let’s all join our
selected students in singing "I Am But a Small Voice". Let’s raise our voices
together!
(Community Song is performed)
Cardo:
Thank you so much for being part of today’s celebration! Remember, every time you
open a book, you open a new world!
Kuli:
That’s right, Cardo! So keep reading, keep dreaming, and most importantly, keep
those imaginations running wild! See you all next time!

Both:
Goodbye, San Juan Elementary! Happy Reading Month!
(Music plays as the program concludes)

This script keeps the event upbeat and fun, while still maintaining the flow of the
program. The jokes and lighthearted moments should help keep the energy high
throughout!
