SELF-AWARENESS is the ability to see yourself clearly and

objectively through reflection and introspection. When one is self-aware, s/he has a
clear grasp of their own personality, including their strengths, weaknesses, motivations,
emotions, beliefs, values, and thought patterns.
• Getting deeper, into knowing what are your strengths and capabilities, as well as
acknowledging your weaknesses and limitations
• Above all, it is not just dependent on other peoplebut rathera personal assessment
of WHO YOU ARE, WHAT YOU CAN DO and WHAT YOU CAN BECOME
• It is only thru coming to terms with yourself can you begin toappreciate, accept, love
and value yourselfwhich will eventually lead you to relate, understand, accept and love
others
• HOW WE RELATE TO PEOPLE AND SITUATIONS IN LIFE WILL LARGELY
DEPEND ON HOW WE LOOK AT OUR SELF
TYPES OF SELF AWARENESS

1. Public Self-Awareness- This type emerges when people are aware of how they appear
to others. This type of self-awareness often compels people to adhere to social norms.
When we are aware that we are being watched and evaluated, we often try to behave
in ways that are socially acceptable and desirable.
2. Private Self-Awareness- This type happens when people become aware of some aspects
of themselves, but only in a private way. For example, seeing your face in the mirror is a
type of private self-awareness

Strengthening your Self Awareness Leads to:

▪ Healing inner blocks so you can uncover your authentic self
▪ Effective decision making
▪ Creating better environment that suits your needs
▪ Sustaining a positive outlook in life
▪ Focusing your energy towards what you do best
▪ Discovering your true and unlimited potentials
