• Actions carried out in another window than where the recording was started.
• Window switching
• Actions that are not related to the spreadsheet contents.
• Selections are recorded only if they are done by using the keyboard (cursor traveling),
but not when the mouse is used.
• The macro recorder works only in Calc and Writer.
Q13 In a database, why is it important to create relationships between the tables?
While working with multiple tables, you need to check the redundancy and inconsistency
of data. The record for a particular entity should neither be repeated nor different data
values should appear for a single entity in the database. This is done by setting
relationships between the tables of a database.

Q17 A company is preparing a detailed project report using a word processor. The team wants
to include a Table of Contents (ToC) to make the document more organized and user-
friendly. The team leader asks one of the team members:
1. What is the need of Table of contents (TOC)?
The table of contents provides the listing of the document’s contents. It helps in
locating content and finding the page number of that content.
A table of contents is a snapshot of the entire document at any given point in time.
2. What will happen if the ‘Protected Against Manual Changes’ option is not selected in
the Type tab of Table of Contents, Index or Bibliography dialog box?
Protected against Manual Changes protects the ToC from any accidental change. If this
box is unchecked, then the contents of ToC can be changed directly on the document
page, just like any other text on the document.
Q18 A financial analyst is working on a spreadsheet to prepare a report for a company's
quarterly performance. During the task, the manager asks the analyst to:
1. Explain what is meant by "Subtotals" in a spreadsheet.
The Subtotal tool in Calc creates the group automatically and applies common
functions like sum, and average on the grouped data. One can use any type of
summary function for each column as per the requirement of data analysis.
2. Describe the concept of "Consolidating Data" and how it can be useful in the report.
Consolidate Functions: Consolidate is a function used to combine information from
multiple sheets of the spreadsheet into one place to summarize the information. It is
used to view and compare variety of data in a single spreadsheet for identifying trends
and relationships.
Q19 What are Data Models? Explain different types of Data models.
A database can be designed in different ways depending on the data being stored. This
structure of database is known as data model that describes the manner in which data will
be stored and retrieved. A data model consists of components for describing the data,
relationships among them and the constraints that hold data. There are different data
models such as:
Hierarchical Data Model In this model the data is organized into a tree like structure.
Network Data Model In this model, multiple records are linked to same master file. It is
also considered as an inverted tree where master is present in the bottom of the tree and
the branches contain information linked to the master.

Relational Data Model This data model is based on the principle of setting relationships
between two or more tables of the same database. The data elements are stored in
different tables made up of rows and columns. The data in different tables are related
through the use of common fields. So, relations are set between tables based on common
fields. That is why this model is termed as relational database model
Q20 What points should be included in Fire Prevention Plan in the office?
• All employees must know where the fire extinguishers are located, and how to properly

Q21 You are tasked with designing a database table named "ITEM" for managing inventory at a
retail store. The structure of the table includes the following columns:
To finalize the table design, answer the following questions:
1. What suitable data type would you assign to each column?
Column Name Data Type
ItemNo Numeric/Text
ItemName Text
Price Currency
Quantity Numeric
2. Which field would you choose to set as the Primary Key, and why?
The ItemNo column can be set as the Primary Key. This column should hold unique
numeric values to identify each item.
3. Is it possible to assign more than one field as the Primary Key in this table? Provide
justification for your answer.
Yes, it is possible to assign more than one field as the Primary Key. If no single field
is sufficient to uniquely identify a record, in such cases a combination of fields
ItemNo and ItemName is required for uniqueness.
