Test tube • Is used to hold test tubes. It is used for holding a test
holder tube in place when the tube is hot or should not be
touched.

gently move tissues out of the way during exploratory
surgery and to access confined cavities that are hard to
reach with hands and fingers.

Beakers • Are versatile laboratory apparatus used for various

purposes such as;
• Holding and mixing liquids, estimating volumes of
liquids, heating or cooling liquids, stirring and mixing
reagents or chemicals

Spatula • The laboratory spatula is used for measuring solids,

moving objects and for scraping material from
beakers. Spatulas can also be used for other purposes,
including non-slip covers and weights.

Thermometer • Laboratory thermometers are designed to measure

boiling points, freezing points, and temperatures of
various substances. In this case, it has a temperature
range of -10 degrees C to 110 degrees C. As such, it can
be used to measure temperature changes accurately.

Alcohol lamp • An alcohol lamp is used for heating, sterilization, and

combustion in a laboratory. The alcohol lamp uses ethyl
alcohol or spirit as a fuel.

Beaker tongs • Beaker tongs are used to handle hot beakers. Typical
beaker tongs can grab beakers of any size and can also
be used to move other objects, such as cans. The grips of
beaker tongs are generally wrapped in cloth or form-
fitting vinyl.
• Clay triangle a pipeclay triangle serves as a supporting
Clay triangle structure for items being heated on a Bunsen burner or
other open flame heat source in a laboratory setting. The
apparatus is shaped like an equilateral triangle with three
60-degree angles.

Wire gauze • Wire gauze is primarily used in science laboratories as a

flame shield. Wire gauze is placed on the support ring that
is attached to the retort stand between a burner and
glassware, or is placed on a tripod to support beakers,
flasks, or other glassware to protect it during heating

Crucible • Crucible tongs are scissors-like tools with a pair of

tongs attached arms that curve outward near the ends to form a
rounded gripping area that allows users to safely grasp
crucibles, flasks, evaporating dishes, or small beakers.

Bunsen burner • A Bunsen burner, is a kind of ambient air gas burner

used as laboratory equipment; it produces a single open
gas flame, and is used for heating, sterilization, and
combustion.

Rubber • RUBBER TUBBING features reinforced ends which

Tubbing connect to the Bunsen burner, and they work to carry the
gas from a gas tap to the burner. Bunsen burner tubing is
usually made from high quality neoprene and suitable for
use with both LPG and natural gases.

Evaporatin • Evaporating dish is a piece of laboratory glassware used

g dish for the evaporation of solutions and supernatant liquids,
and sometimes to their melting point.
• Evaporating dishes are used to evaporate excess
solvents most commonly water to produce a
concentrated solution or a solid precipitate of the
dissolved substance.

Digital balance • A watch glass is a circular concave piece of glass used in

chemistry as a surface to evaporate a liquid, to hold solids
while being weighed, for heating a small amount of
substance, and as a cover for a beaker.

Digital • Digital balance an essential tool used in laboratories for

balance accurately measuring the mass of different substances. It
is designed to provide precise measurements, making it an
indispensable instrument in various scientific fields.

Triple beam • The triple beam balance is a laboratory instrument used

balance to measure the mass of an object. It provides higher
accuracy than a spring-based measuring scale, with an
error margin of only 0.05 grams. The balance has three
beams, and it works on the principle of the lever.
Hot Plate • Hot Plate used to heat substances in containers such
as beakers, flasks or test tubes. The heated
substances are then utilized for various applications,
such as chemical synthesis and sample preparation.

Graduated • A graduated cylinder is a piece of laboratory

cylinder is glassware used to measure the volume of liquids. It
consists of a cylindrical tube with a narrow, vertical
scale marked on the outside, allowing the user to
read the volume of the liquid with a high degree of
accuracy.

Crucible • A Crucible is a cup-shaped piece of laboratory

equipment used to contain chemical compounds
when heating them to very high temperatures. It is
used to burn, melt or mix solid chemical compounds
over a burner. Crucibles can hold all kinds of
substances, materials, and fluids. They are used in
quantitative gravimetric chemical analysis.

Mortar • Mortar and pestle to grind solid chemicals into

and pestle fine powders so that they can dissolve into solvents
more easily. Additionally, the chemical reaction rate
is a function of particle size, so a mortar and pestle
are needed to reduce the sizes of the particles for
quicker reactions.

Volumetric • A volumetric flask (measuring flask or graduated

Flask flask) is a piece of laboratory apparatus, a type of
laboratory flask, calibrated to contain a precise
volume at a certain temperature. Volumetric flasks
are used for precise dilutions and preparation of
standard solutions.

Funnel • A funnel is a laboratory tool that is used to channel

liquids or fine-grained substances into containers
with a small opening. Funnels can also be used to
filter materials with the addition of a sieve or filter
paper

Florence flask • A Florence flask is a type of laboratory glassware

used to hold liquids, serve as a container for
solutions of chemicals. Play a key role in distillation
setups, where it serves as the boiling flask to heat
liquid mixtures and create vapor for separation
based on boiling points.

Iron stand • Iron stand are commonly used in chemistry

laboratories for supporting apparatus above
the work surface, for example, a tapered item
such as a filter funnel or separatory funnel

Iron clamp • An iron clamp is a lab item used to hold various

lab equipment that cannot be placed on flat
surfaces, such as funnels, Imhoff
• cones, and round-bottom flasks
Erlenmeyer • The Erlenmeyer Flask is a commonly used laboratory
Flask container with the following functions, Storing and
mixing various solutions and samples. Holding and
storing liquid samples in various volumes. Its narrow
neck and conical shape provide a stable base to prevent
spills and splashes

Test tube • Test tube racks are laboratory equipment used to hold
racks upright multiple test tubes at the same time. They are
most commonly used when various different solutions
are needed to work with simultaneously, for safety
reasons, for safe storage of test tubes, and to ease the
transport of multiple tubes.
Vials • Vials are small glass or plastic containers that are used
to store or sample liquids, powders, or capsules. Vials
are often used in laboratories for analytical
chromatography, which is a technique for separation of
a compound mixture. The volume of liquid by the neck
of a vial is called the headspace

Test tubes • Test tubes are widely used by chemists to hold, mix,
or heat small quantities of solid or liquid chemicals.
They are used for qualitative experiments and assays.

Tripod • A laboratory tripod is a three-legged platform used to

support flasks and beakers. Often a wire gauze is
placed on top of the tripod to provide a flat base for
glassware.

A Petri dish • A Petri dish is a shallow, cylindrical, lidded dish that

biologists use to culture cells, such as bacteria or small
mosses. It's typically made of glass or clear plastic,
allowing scientists to observe the growth and behavior
of the cultures inside. Petri dishes are essential tools in
microbiology, cell biology, and other scientific fields
for experiments and research.
