Responses

Two potential positive outcomes of this lesson plan/activity are that

students will develop a clear understanding of text structure in
informational texts and that they will actively participate in group
discussions and class discussions. To encourage these positive outcomes,
the teacher can scaffold the lesson by providing clear explanations and
examples of different text structures and by modeling effective reading and
discussion strategies. The teacher can also create a supportive and
inclusive classroom environment where all ideas and contributions are
valued and respected.

On the other hand, two potential negative outcomes of this lesson

plan/activity are that students may struggle to identify and understand
different text structures and that some students may not actively
participate in group or class discussions. To prevent these negative
outcomes, the teacher can start the lesson with a brief review of any prior
knowledge students may have about text structure and provide additional
support and guidance as needed. The teacher can also create opportunities
for individual or small-group practice before the group activity and provide
specific guidelines or prompts to encourage active participation and ensure
that all students contribute to the discussions.

Overall, this lesson plan/activity can be successful in helping students

understand text structures and engaging them in meaningful discussions
by providing clear explanations, modeling effective strategies, fostering a
supportive classroom environment, and offering additional support and
guidance as needed.
