INTERVENTION ACTIVITY 6: SOLVING REAL-LIFE SITUATIONS USING FUNCTIONS (50pts)
1. A mobile carrier offers an internet plan where:
• The first 2 GB of data is free.
• Each additional GB after the first 2 GB costs ₱50.
• If the data usage exceeds 10 GB, a flat rate of ₱500 is charged.
Question:
Write a piecewise function for the total cost C(d) where d is the data usage in GB, and calculate
the cost for 12 GB of usage.

2. A streaming service offers the following rental prices:

• ₱20 per movie for the first 3 movies rented in a month.
• ₱15 per movie for each additional movie after the first 3.
Question:
Write a piecewise function for the total cost C(n) where n is the number of movies rented in a
month, and calculate the cost for renting 5 movies.

3. A delivery service charges:

• ₱100 for deliveries within 5 km.
• An additional ₱10 per km for distances between 5 and 10 km.
• A flat fee of ₱200 for any distance beyond 10 km.
Question:
Write a piecewise function for the delivery charge C(d) based on the distance d in km, and find
the cost for a delivery that is 8 km away.

• ₱300 per hour for the first 2 hours.
• ₱250 per hour for each additional hour beyond 2 hours.
Question:
Write a piecewise function for the total cost C(h) where h is the number of hours tutored, and
calculate the cost for 4 hours of tutoring.

5. An amusement park charges:

• ₱500 for entry and unlimited rides for children under 12 years old.
• ₱1000 for adults.
• A flat fee of ₱750 for seniors aged 60 and above.
Question:

the price for a 65-year-old visitor.

Note: The score will fill up the missing activities, group activities,
assignments ONLY which is part of your PERFORMANCE TASK.
