Abstract

The project titled 'Physiocs: Physiotherapy for the New Normal' aims to develop a platform that enables patients to perform essential exercises under the supervision of physiotherapists remotely. It includes features like separate logins for patients, physiotherapists, and doctors, allowing for exercise creation, history tracking, and real-time feedback. Additionally, machine learning algorithms will be utilized to predict recovery times based on patient history and progress.

ABSTRACT

With the outbreak of the pandemic, many occupations have suffered a major setback, one such
sector is physiotherapy. The inability of the physiotherapist to go to every patient hinders the
recovery rate of the patient.

The central idea of this project revolves around, developing a platform through which the patient
can do the essential exercises while being monitored by the physiotherapist or by the system itself,
the system will also be capable of measuring the angles between the major joints of the body thus
eliminating the need for tools required to take such reading in-person.

Extended features of the system include repetition counter and taking feedback of the patient
during/after the exercise.

The entire project is capable of providing the following functionalities:

 Separate logins for the Patient, physiotherapist, and the doctor

 The physiotherapist will be able to create physical exercises for the patient to perform, they
will also be able to view the patient's history of previous tests and provide feedback for the
same.
 The doctor will be able to access with patient's exercise history, and also view the feedback
provided by the patient regarding the issues he faced while doing it.
 The patient will have the option to perform tests, see his live pose detection so that he can
align himself as required by the exercise created by the physiotherapist. The system can also
be able to record the repetition count and feedback during and after the exercise
respectively.

Moreover, the patient will also be able to view the details of the doctor and physiotherapist
assigned to him.

 Another extended feature that the system implements are machine learning algorithms to
predict the expected time of recovery based on the previous history of the patient and the
progress he makes in his Range of movement with a stipulated time.
