Reporting to Unit Head - Databases Administration
 Minimum Bachelor’s degree in IT / Computer Science / Engineering or equivalent from a
Educational /
local or international university / college / institute recognized by the HEC
Professional
 Candidates having a Master’s degree in IT / Computer Science / Engineering or equivalent
Qualification
and / or relevant certification(s) will be preferred
 Minimum 04 years of experience in Database Administration, out of which 02 years in SQL
Experience
Database Administration, preferably in bank(s)
 Strong knowledge of database architecture, HA / DR, security, encryption, performance
optimization & implementation, auditing, identifying bottlenecks, proactive monitoring &
Other Skills / Expertise / alerts / notification setup
Knowledge Required  Passion to learn, grow, succeed, and to be challenged
 Excellent analytical, decision-making, problem-solving, team, and time management skills
 Proficient in MS Office suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint)
 To deliver 24/7 database support, ensuring swift issue resolutions, and promptly escalating
incidents to both the line manager and the vendor when necessary
 To manage database administration with maintaining and managing MSSQL Server and
perform day-to-day maintenance and monitoring of production, development and testing
environments
 To manage database environments for upgrade, migration, maintenance & patching
activities
 To troubleshoot critical issues on database servers and provide ad-hoc support to maintain
critical services of the Bank
 To manage databases backups with sound knowledge of recovery procedures i.e. point in
time restore, Sequence Change Number (SCN) etc.
Outline of Main Duties /  To manage high availability, replication, and clustering of mission critical databases to
Responsibilities ensure uninterrupted services
 To be able to conduct routine review of databases to ensure audit and compliance as per
the standards, policies, security and OEM configuration guidelines
 To conduct research and recommend solutions for operational improvement
 To manage automation for technical & operational tasks and alerts for proactive
monitoring, involving creation and management of SQL / shell / bash scripts, having Oracle
Cloud Control for monitoring and alert configuration setup
 To be able to manage principal support, Service Level Agreements & renewals
 To be able to provide 24/7 database support; provide quick resolutions and escalate issues
/ incidents to line manager & vendor(s)
 To perform any other assignment as assigned by the supervisor(s)
