Dear Sir/Madam,

Greetings from SWAMEDHA EDUCATIONAL SERVICES.

The National Educational Policy (NEP - 2020) has envisaged CODING to be

introduced in the school curriculum. While the move is welcomed by all, we take this
opportunity to take you through this endeavour of ours to reach out to the students in
your esteemed educational institution.
SWAMEDHA is a flexible platform that is being used in lots of ways across many
schools in India. Schools are using SWAMEDHA for class - specific lesson to teach
coding in mathematics or to support activity based learning in mathematics. Schools
use SWAMEDHA as a resource to teach mathematics in more visual and practical
curriculum across all grades. Our goal is to provide every child with a solid foundation
in CODING through MATHEMATICS and prepare them for the future.

SWAMEDHA have envisaged two wonderful tools which can be used by your institution:

1. Interactive Mathematics Program:

Many teachers face a hard challenge when teaching their students math. It is very
common to witness kids, in classrooms everywhere to be allergic to math, formulas,
algorithms, and equations.
Several educators are constantly trying to find new, engaging ways to teach math to
their students. This motivates us to offer you a technology driven INTERACTIVE MATH
PROGRAM which can motivate students to appreciate math and to understand it in a
visual, experiential, smoother and easier way.

2. Coding with Mathematics:

Coding, at the bottom line, is math. In order to write a line of code that works well,
and that is completely bug-free, coders need to strengthen their algorithmic thinking
and computational thinking. These two ways of thinking in their deepest essence:
Mathematics.
The good news is students can strengthen their mathematical thinking the opposite
way around. They don’t have to begin with math to progress to coding; they can actually
start coding and, in the way, get way better in math.
We request you to start offering your students a new way of thinking. Let them
experience math in a hands-on, dynamic, and engaging format, and be amazed by the
results you’ll see in your class.

Give it a try! Because MATH IS CODING, and CODING IS MATH.

Please find attached our FAQs for more details on this concept.
Request you to provide a virtual interaction with your mathematics faculty to explore
further avenues of utility.
SWAMEDHA EDUCATIONAL SERVICES – FAQ :
Why CODING?
The world is moving forward at an unimaginably fast face and it is important to
equip children with the knowledge and skills that will help them succeed in the future. It
is almost impossible to ignore the importance of coding in today's world. Almost every
human being that exists right now has been influenced by some form of coding or the
other. In such a world where code is everywhere, many have talked about why learning
to code is important and beneficial for every person. Hence, introducing coding to
children at an early age can have a lot of benefits.

What Is CODING?
Coding, to put it simply, is using computer language to tell a computer what to do.
The skills necessary for coding include being able to analyse a problem, break it down,
engage critical thinking, and logic. This “thinking” element is often referred to as
computational thinking. “Coding” is, in a way, a shorthand name for a broader set of
skills necessary for navigating an age of technology.

Why Teach CODING?

With technology being everywhere, it is important for students to not only know
how to use it, but to understand how it works. Through coding, students are developing
skills in how to break apart complex problems, how to develop complex solutions etc.
Even if students do not become programmers in the future, they will be able to use the
skills developed from learning how to code in any field of work they choose to pursue in
the future.

How Will CODING Be Taught?

NEP suggests that coding should be taught to students in relation to their
curriculum. With our vast experience in education sector, we have seen a broad view of
technology and coding in K-12 education. For us, coding is not the end goal but the
means. We envisage teaching coding in the language of MATHEMATICS.

MATHEMATICS?
Many teachers face a hard challenge when teaching their students math. It is very
common to witness kids, in classrooms all over the globe who are allergic to math,
formulas, algorithms, and equations. Several educators are constantly trying to find
new, engaging ways to teach math to their students without much success. Therefore,
we are a light of hope for those teachers and let them know there is an amazing
possibility to make their students understand that mathematics isn’t only a practical
tool they can use every day, but it is also engaging, and fun.

CODING with MATH?

Believe it or not, coding is full of math. Math and coding are deeply related and
when teaching students how to code, we are -at the same time - delivering mathematical
content, and a way of thinking that they can use, later on, while calculating something
specific in their math class. Students will acquire these mathematical skills and abilities
without even noticing it, and while having fun.
The secret ingredient of this engaging formula is to make math a field that is
closer to student’s interests and goals, and to show them - hands-on- how can these be
applied in reality.

CODING through MATH?

The times of “when the train is crossing a platform at 120kmph….” are every day
less relevant for the kids of today. Coding, on the other hand, offer students practical
and fun approaches to mathematics and technology. When kids learn how to code, they
are applying principles that belong to mathematics and developing strong mathematical
thinking that will help them in many areas of their academic and personal life.
Coding, at the bottom line, is math. In order to write a line of code that works well,
and that is completely bug-free, coders need to strengthen their algorithmic thinking and
computational thinking. And what are these two ways of thinking in their deepest
essence: Mathematics.

What is SWAMEDHA?
It is an online platform that easily and successfully teaches students how to code
through the language which they already know: MATHEMATICS. Students learn the
fundamentals of programming and design without the frustrations of traditional syntax.
Our goal is to provide every child with a solid foundation in CODING through
MATHEMATICS vice versa and also prepare them for the future.

How can I use SWAMEDHA at my school?

SWAMEDHA is a flexible platform that is being used in lots of ways across many
schools in India. Schools are using SWAMEDHA for class - specific lessons to teach
coding in mathematics or to support activity based learning in mathematics. Schools can
use SWAMEDHA as a resource to teach mathematics in more visual and practical
curriculum across all grades.

Do I / My teacher need coding experience or training to use

SWAMEDHA with my students?
Not at all! No coding experience and no training is required. We've found that
teachers can also learn alongside the students, and in a collaborative environment,
students can also help and inspire each other. We provide a fun and easy introduction to
CODING for all students. Grade-specific programming courses allow students to develop
skills year-after-year with the gradual transition to traditional programming languages
like C++ / PHP / Java / Python etc...

What are SWAMEDHA courses like?

Lessons are designed to cover the mathematical concepts encountered in the
academic year. As students’ progress through a concept, they'll be working through
different types of “Projects” where students apply what they have learned.
Can I use SWAMEDHA for my entire school?
Absolutely! Our grade-specific curricula teach MATHEMATICS and CODING
through activities that students love!

The Early Birds (3 – 5 Graders):

Create exciting patterns and solve fun puzzles with Maths.

The Aviators (6 – 10 Graders):

Start experimenting with the advanced mathematical concepts before transitioning
directly to any other programing language like C++ / PHP /Java / Python etc...

How does SWAMEDHA support learning in mathematics?

Imagine teaching (Arithmetic, Algebra, Geometry, Trigonometry etc…) fractions,
simple equations in a normal classroom and using the same age old whiteboard, and
now compare it to teaching the same content while students are coding their very own
app, or when they are programming a virtual robot.
Schools are using SWAMEDHA as a way for students to demonstrate their
understanding of math. As students apply their learnings on various mathematical
formulae, they acquire a deeper knowledge of the subject with respect to their class.

What do my students learn with SWAMEDHA?

 Our curriculum is designed to teach students computational thinking and
mathematics.
 Students learn programming concepts such as loops and variables, repetition,
conditional logic, functions, computer drawing.
 Students also acquire critical skills, such as problem decomposition, pattern
recognition, abstraction, algorithmic thinking, and automation.
 Once students have a strong grasp of the fundamentals, they can transition to any
mainstream programming language, such as C++ / PHP /Java / Python etc...
